3. Cynthia Rylant was born
in Hopewell, WV

4. When she was 4 she was taken to live with
her grandparents.

5. They lived in very rustic
situations. They didn’t
even have electric, but
they had lots of love.

6. She attended Morris
Harvey College for her
Bachelors degree, and
Marshall University for
her Masters.

7. She got married and got her first job at the
Cabell County Library in Huntington,
WV. That’s where she found her love of
children’s books.

8. She is now a children’s
book author and has
published over 100
children’s book.
