TIPS FOR WRITING A GOOD SPEECH.
A speech is an effective art of communicating a message to large audience. It is one of the ways of spreading awareness regarding social issues or giving information regarding other important issues.
2. WHAT IS A SPEECH….?
• A speech is an art of communicating our message and ideas
to a large audience in an effective way.
• A speech begins with a formal address to the audiences, is
more conversational in tone and concludes with a thank you.
• A speech is written or presented for a specific purpose like
informing, persuading, convincing or entertaining an
audience. In a speech, typically the main purpose is to
persuade the listener/reader to take up and support your
views.
• So, speech is one of the ways of spreading awareness
regarding social issues or giving information about the same.
4. THREE IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF
AN EFFECTIVE SPEECH
1. Clarity of thoughts
2. Organization of thoughts
•Introduction
•Elaboration of the topic
•Summing up & Conclusion
3. Effectiveness of the content.
5. INTRODUCTION
The introduction of the speech establishes the first, crucial
contact between the speaker and the audience.
1. Focus your audience's attention
2. Use the personal pronoun ‘I’ and write the speech as if you are addressing an
audience.
3. Establish goodwill and credibility.
4. Present a quote, a joke, an anecdote, a thought-provoking question, an
example, a statistical data and present the topic on which you are going to
present your speech.
6. ELABORATION OF TOPIC
1. Cover five-six main points.
2. Group similar content together in one paragraph.
3. Write your speech in 3-4 paragraphs
4. Logically express your content involving your ideas, including
events, reasons, effects, process.

about the topic.

on the topic and attract their attention on your speech)

(Use any other expression that is persuasive and powerful using)

8. CONCLUSION
• Should sum up main ideas.
• Provide a sense of closure.
An effective conclusion might provide the reference
of the introduction again. A short question can be
asked as your concluding line. In addition to these, an
appropriate quotation or moral value can also be
used as a concluding line.
