3. Several towns surround Minot along the Souris River.

6. Minot experiences flooding that shuts the city down for 40 days.

7. Water levels reached 1555.4’ above sea level (roughly lower part of first floor walls).

9. Canada has tremendous amounts of water built up due to rain and thaw.

10. Dams release the water to save dams, over 30,000 CFS (Cubic Feet per Second) rush south towards Lake Darling.

11. Lake Darling is at capacity and attempts to retain water but cannot stop it allowing the water to continue south.

12. Water levels expected for Minot (brunt) to reach 1566’ above sea level (will reach 2nd floor and cover single story homes).

13. Dikes have been built-up to handle the levels but water is moving too fast and have begun to top and wash away the dikes.

14. Many neighborhoods have already taken much water (river levels only at 1556.07’).

15. Minot residents, ND National Guard, and Minot AFB Airmen continue to build up dikes and control flooding.Over 4000 homes in the flood areas are being evacuated and over 12,000 people are homeless. The evacuation area has expanded once and could possibly expand again!!!
