1. APA Citation Work
1. Pick an article at http://humefogghs.libguides.com/biology (You’ll use this website for research
all year!)
Create the APA citation for it. Here is the format for a newspaper:
Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day).Title of article.Title of Newspaper. Retrieved from
http://www.someaddress.com
NOTICE the 2nd line is always indented!!!!
Here is the format for a periodical:
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication).Title of article.Title of Online Periodical, volume
number(issue number if available). Retrieved from http://www.someaddress.com
You will create an APA heading, APA Reference for chosen article, and two examples of in-text
citations with a quote from the article. Please see example on the libguide and contact
Amanda.smithfield@mnps.org or text 615-900-0432 if you need help.
In-Text Citations:
Using transition words/phrases (on libguide) and blending the author/title with the direct quote, quote
a segment of the article that you have chosen above in two different ways. See libguide for examples.
Make sure you use the correct in-text citation.
