Learning Standards:       3.2.2 Able to write with guidance:

                          (a)       simple sentences
                          (b)      compound sentences

Objectives:               By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

                          (i)      write simple and compound sentences.
                          (ii)     write a paragraph.

Cross-curricular elements: Constructivism



Steps:

Pre-Writing

1.        Get pupils to name the Olympic symbols learnt from the previous lesson.

2.        Revise the difficult words learnt previously.



Writing

2.        In groups, pupils make sentences from the difficult words learnt previously.

3.        Pupils write sentences on the board.

4.        Guide pupils to write a simple paragraph from the sentences. (Shared Writing)

5.        Pupils write the paragraph into their exercise books. (weak pupils)

          Pupils write their own paragraphs into their exercise books. (advanced and intermediate
          pupils)

Feedback

6.        Pupils are picked at random to read their paragraphs.

7.        Other pupils listen and correct where there are mistakes.
