Atmel Keys In on Engineers Researching Security Apps with SupplyFrame IPO Ads

Atmel leads the global electronics industry with next-level solutions in indus-
trial, consumer, security, communications, computing, and automotive markets.
Founded in 1984, it’s compiled one of the industry’s broadest portfolios of tech-
nology IP. Atmel headquarters is in San Jose, CA, USA, and the company currently
employs approximately 5,100 worldwide. Corporate net revenue in 2012 reached
USD $1.43 billion.
T h e C h a l l e n g e
Atmel needed the key to unlock global demand among design engineers for its
CryptoAuthentication product range of leading edge security and authentication
solutions. They started by developing content and building a landing page on
Intellectual Property protection that featured white papers, videos, datasheets,
and a webinar signup. It was time to bring interested engineers to this powerful
page, so Atmel sought an advertising solution that could deliver a high volume of
motivated visitors.
T h e So l u t io n
Atmel reached out to SupplyFrame for help in cracking the code to get through to
engineers researching security solutions. Together they determined SupplyFrame’s
IPO display ad was the answer. As one of the industry’s best-performing ad products,
Atmel knew they could trust SupplyFrame IPO to reach and influence electronics
engineers around the globe.
Atmel’s goal was to bring a large number of targeted visitors to their security
campaign landing page. Together with Atmel, SupplyFrame tested and optimized two
creative units with thirteen total variations. SupplyFrame leveraged proprietary data
and experience to design ads and develop calls-to-action that would urge engineers
to click, resulting in the high-intent traffic Atmel desired.

A variety of metrics were tracked* for Atmel’s
three-month IPO campaign: landing page visits,
sample requests, downloads (datasheets, white
papers, etc.), and sales leads. The results were
exciting. Atmel’s ads logged 240,000 impres-
sions over the course of the campaign and sent
nearly 7,700 researching engineers to Atmel’s
security landing page where they engaged with
Atmel’s content, downloaded information, and
ordered product samples.

SupplyFrame’s top-performing IPO ads were key in bringing widespread attention to Atmel’s CryptoAuthentication
product line. The IPO campaign proved effective at referring global electronics engineers to a page where they
could learn more about Atmel’s CryptoAuthentication products and actively enter Atmel’s design win funnel.
The SupplyFrame IPO ad portfolio exceeded Atmel’s campaign goal CTR as well as the industry average for
display ads. As a result of this success, Atmel continues to be strong partner and has increased the number of
campaigns running with SupplyFrame.
