2. About UsAbout Us
Our Family has been in the diamond business since the 1950’s. My
grandfather Emmanuel Williams, arrived in England before the Second
World War, and started trading diamonds in the London Bourse, after having
learnt the trade in Antwerp, Belgium. My father, Theodor Williams, started
his career in the diamond industry as a diamond polisher, and with this
knowledge progressed to become one of the biggest jewellery manufacturer
in the 60’s and 70’s in England.
I myself Jonathan Williams, has been in the diamond and jewellery business,
since 1978, and also started off as a manufacturing jewellery specialized in
diamond products.

Obviously this is the single most important question when you are
considering selling a piece of diamond jewellery. The value of a diamond is
primarily determined by its 4C's:
CARAT: how much does the diamond weigh?
COLOUR: does the diamond look yellow?
CLARITY: can you see any 'stuff' in the diamond?
CUT: how well does a diamond reflect light?

Carat
Diamonds are measured in terms of weight,
not size but the chart below will give you a
very good indication. The heavier the diamond,
the greater the carat weight. Two diamonds
of equal weight can have very different values,
because the quality is still determined by the
colour, clarity and cut.

8. How to assess the colour of your diamond?
Colour
While many diamonds appear colourless, or white, they may actually have
subtle yellow or brown tones that can be detected when comparing
diamonds side by side. Colourless diamonds are the rarest and most
valuable of all. Colour variations are a result of the natural forces (i.e.,
temperature, pressure, trace elements) at work during the formation of
diamonds within the Earth.
