1. AFGHANISTAN

The flag of Afghanistan is composed of three equal
vertical bars of black, red, and green.
Black represents the occupation of foreigners, red
represents the blood of freedom fighters, and green
denotes Islam.
In the middle of the flag is a mehrab, an arch in a
mosque, a mender and a pulpit and are enclosed
by wheat.

2. IRAN

The flag of Iran consists of three equal sized
horizontal stripes green,white and red.
On the edges of the white stripe there are stylized
in Kufi script writings.
In the middle of the white stripe and at the flag's
center is the country's coat of arms consisting of
four crescents and a sword.

3. IRAQ

The flag of Iraq consists of three equal sized
horizontal stripes red,white and black that
represent the takbir.
The phrase 'God is Great' is written in green and is
placed in the middle of the white stripe.
There are also three green stars in the stripe.

4. KUWAIT

The flag of Kuwait consists of three horizontal
stripes green,white and red. On the left hand side
of the Kuwait flag there is a black trapezoid.
The green stripe represents the fertility of Arab
nations and the black represents the defeat of
enemies.
The red stands for the blood of the defeated enemy
and white symbolizes honor and purity.

5. BAHRAIN

The Bahrain flag consists of a red base with a white
vertical stripe that has a serration or a zigzag made
of five white triangles.
The triangles point to the right side of the flag.
Bahrain's older flags used to be entirely red, but a
white stripe was added in the 19th Century.

6. NIGERIA

The flag of Nigeria consists of three equal sized
vertical stripes - the right and left stripe are green;
and the middle stripe is white.
The green stripes represent Nigeria's agriculture
industry and its lush vegetation.
The white stripe represents the desire for peace
and unity within the country.

7. SYRIA

8. QATAR

The flag of Qatar consists of a maroon base with a
white serrated stripe on the left side of it. The stripe
has nine points on it.
The serrated edge represents Qatar as the 9th
member of the 'reconciled Emirates' of the Arabian
Gulf at the conclusion of the Qatari-British treaty in
1916.

9. YEMEN

The flag of Yemen consists of three equal-sized
horizontal stripes red,white and black.
The Yemen flag was adopted on May 22, 1990
when North Yemen and South Yemen joined
together.
The red, white and black stripes were also present
on the flags of North and South Yemen, and are
traditional Arab colors.

10. SUDAN

The flag of Sudan consists of three horizontal
stripes red,white and black.
On the left side of the Sudan flag there is a
horizontal green triangle pointing towards the
middle.
The black represents Sudan; in Arabic 'Sudan'
means black. It also represents the black flag of
nationalists who fought colonial rule during the
Mahdist Revolution, late in 19th century.

11. DENMARK

The Denmark flag consists of a red base with an
uneven white cross. The horizontal stripe of the
cross runs across the center of the flag, but the
vertical stripe is shifted to the left side of the flag.
The white cross on the Danish flag represents
Christianity.

12. LIBYA

The flag of Libya consists of a solid green
background.
Green is the national color of Libya as well as a
symbol of devotion to Islam.
Green also represents Libyan President Muammar
al Qaddafi's 'Green Revolution' - an intention to
turn Libya into a wealthy agricultural nation.

13. OMAN

The flag of Oman consists of three horizontal
stripes - white,red and green; and a red vertical
stripe on the left side of the flag.
Situated in the top of the vertical stripe is the
national emblem of Oman which consists of two
crossed swords, a dagger called a Khanjar and a
belt.

14. EGYPT

The flag of Egypt consists of three equal sized
horizontal stripes red,white black. In the center of
the Egyptian flag is an emblem of the eagle of
Saladin.
The red stripe refers to the period before the 1952
revolution; which brought a group of army officers
to power after deposing King Farouk, the King of
Egypt.

15. TURKEY

The flag of Turkey consists of a red base with a
white crescent moon and a five-point star towards
the left side of the flag.
Red is a traditional Islamic color and the crescent
and star are ancient symbols of Islam and are
considered to be signs of good luck.

16. MALAYSIA

The flag of Malaysia consists of 14 alternating
horizontal stripes of red and white that run down
the flag, starting with red at the top.
In the top left quarter of the Malaysian flag there is
a blue square. Inside the square sits a yellow
crescent and 14-pointed star.
The 14 stripes and points of the star represent the
13 member states of the Malaysian federation and
the Federal District of Kuala Lumpur.

17. MALI

The flag of Mali consists of three equal-sized
vertical stripes green,yellow and red.
The green stripe symbolizes hope, nature and
fertility of the land. The yellow represents purity
and mineral wealth and red stands for strength
and the blood spilt for independence.

18. MOROCCO

The flag of Morocco consists of a red base with a
green outlined, five-point star known as the 'Seal
of Solomon' in the center of it.
Green and red are traditional colors of
Islam, which is Morocco's official religion. Red is
also the color of the reigning Moroccan dynasty.
The Seal of Solomon represents the link between
God and the nation.

19. MEXICO

The flag of Mexico consists of three equal sized
vertical stripes –green,white and red.In the
middle of the Mexican flag and white stripe is
the country's national coat of arms.
The green stripe represents hope; the white
represents symbolizes religion; and the red
represents independence and the unity of the
nation. This scenario with the eagle eating a
snake is depicted on the Mexican coat of arms.

20. TAJIKISTAN

The flag of Tajikistan consists of three horizontal
stripes - red,white and green.
In the middle of the white stripe and flag there is
a yellow/gold crown with seven, five-point stars
over top of it.
The crown and stars symbolize Tajik
sovereignty, the union of workers and the unity
of Tajikistan's social classes.
