The document discusses different perspectives on the purpose of human life. It argues that most people believe their purpose is defined by religion or God, but that the real purpose is to follow natural instincts like other animals. It then presents an alternative view that humans were created by God for relationship with him, and that fulfilling this relationship is the only way to satisfy one's soul. The document concludes that everyone has a unique talent or gift meant to be used in service to others, and finding this purpose leads to spiritual fulfillment.

Reaction Paper#2
My Life’s Purpose
Many people ask themselves this question. And most of the time they get an answer
based on a religion. Because this is the only explanation that people seem to find. If they don't
have an answer to the question then it must be God. With God you can explain everything. Why
am I poor and lazy, because of God? Why does my wife cheat on me, because of God? Why am I
ugly, it must be God?
But actually the answer is very simple and it is not god. We are here to follow the rules of
nature, or our animal instinct. Because that is what we are, just a kind of animal called human.
People will say right away that we are not animals because we can think and animals can't. That
is of course a very poor explanation. We can think and make decisions because this is our tool to
survive in this world. The bird can fly and we cannot. The dog can smell much better than we do.
The giraffe is much taller than we are. The monkey can climb in trees much better than we do.
This is their tool to survive. Because we can think does not make us any better than other
animals we are only different. We are created in God's image for relationship with him. Being in
that relationship is the only thing that will ultimately satisfy our souls. Until we come to know
God, we've had many wonderful experiences, but we haven't hit a nail. We've been used for
some noble purposes, but not the one we were ultimately designed for, not the one through which
we will find the most fulfillment. A relationship with God is the only thing that will quench our
soul's longing. Jesus Christ said, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go
hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." Until we come to know God, we are
hungry and thirsty in life. We try to "eat" and "drink" all kinds of things to satisfy our hunger and
thirst, but yet they remain.
We are like the hammer. We don't realize what will end the emptiness, the lack of
fulfillment, in our lives. Usually when we keep God out, we try to find fulfillment in something
other than God, but we can never get enough of that thing. We keep "eating" or "drinking" more
and more, erroneously thinking that 'more' is the answer to the problem, yet we are never
ultimately satisfied. Everyone has a purpose in life… a unique gift or special talent to give to
others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy
and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.
