My Mother: The Best Mother
My mother has many wonderful traits, but there's a few that stand out. First of all, her wisdom is
outstanding. She provides great advice no matter the situation. Also, I'd say she has a positive
mentality. She always has this optimistic point of view for everything. Ultimately, the trait that
stands out in her the most is compassion. It's incredible the way she shows compassion towards
everyone. Her way of demonstrating compassion is very unique. She always puts herself in everyone
else's shoes, without naming their flaws. Overall, she the best mother I could have asked for.
Ever since day one, she has proven to be a wise woman. When preparing for a test she helps me by
giving me useful advice on how to mentally prepare for it. When in doubt...show more content...
He gave us the hospitals name and we instantly looked it up in the GPS and my mother drove us
there. We quickly ran up to the floor where my brother was being treated. As soon as we saw my
father sitting in the waiting room my mother ran up him to ask him what did the doctors say
about my brother. He said that due to his grave condition he had to be placed in intensive care.
That as soon as my brother's condition stabilized, we would be able to see him. My mother was
trying to be strong, I could see it in her eyes and in the way she talked. Since time was passing by
and we were already tired, my father took us to a hotel and left us there. He then went back to the
hospital with my mother. Days went by and little improvement was shown, things were beginning
to look good. Nurses informed us that we were able to see my brother. But only two people can
be in the room at once. So both of my parents went in first. Then after a while, my brothers and I
went in. He was in a bed asleep, he looked tired and exhausted. We decided to leave and let him
rest. Finally, a doctor came out the door and through the hallway looking for my parents. My
mother quickly stood up and asked him how was my brother doing. The doctor said that my brother
had the flu and two other viruses that he had encountered most probably in the previous hospital.
My mother's face was sadness in every sense

Mother Definition Essay
Growing up, I was used to being bombarded by stories from both my mother and father. My
mother with her religious stories, and my father with his experiences from when he was a little
boy living in Vietnam. What I noticed in all of my mother's stories, was that she was trying to get
a certain message across. Be good. If there is anything that my mother is more stern on then
studies, it would be on being a "good" person that knows their morals and can perfectly execute
and stand by it. My mother's definition of "good", is being selfless, caring, and honest, by being
so you will be rewarded by having to the choice to go to Heaven, or to get reincarnated into a
higher position in society. My mother made it her duty to raise me with the same morals as her
since she believed that hers was "right". She believed that the perfect human being was one that was
always willing to give and one who was always honest....show more content...
He does not know whether or not God or exists, or if there is a higher being, but what he does
know is he saw a ghost, which lead him to believe in an afterlife. My father's way of thinking is
similar to that Aristotle's. Aristotle believed that through our senses, we will find truth. That first, we
use senses, and then use reason afterwards to categorize the things we experience. My father used his
senses, sight, to establish that there is an afterlife.
My mother is like my father, in the sense that they both believe in an afterlife. However, unlike my
father, my mother is a very religious woman who is very faithful to her Catholic beliefs, although
with some altercations. My mother believes that when a person dies, they will get to have the
choice of whether they want to go to Heaven, or get reincarnated into a person with a higher social

Lonely Mother
Motherhood is lonesome. According to many women, being a mother is so demanding that a mother
hardly finds time to visit friends or even family members. Daisy Mckinney is a thirty–one–year–old
resident of Aurora in Arapahoe County, Colorado. I have known Daisy for about three years now
since we both live in the same neighborhood, but we rarely meet. When we do, she always
grumbled of being lonely and busy. Her husband has just been transferred to another state, and this
has exacerbated her situation. I decided to pay her a visit to understand her predicaments because
she seemed to be withdrawn and desperate for something. Despite having a decent job,...show more

She has to take care of everything at home because she does not have a house–help. She dreads that
she might suffer from depression, but she does not sound like she was depressed at all. Sometimes
she gets frustrated and angry, but knowing that she has somebody to look after, she endeavors to
move on, hoping that things will change in the future. Even when loneliness creeps up her heart and
make her feel sorry wishing that something different would happen to transform her current situation,
Daisy always look forward for the time that her husband would rejoin them and live as a complete
family. She longs for the time that she would be seeing her husband every day, in addition to visiting
her siblings whenever she has time.
Consequently, Daisy conceded that sometimes she envy single women because they are always
free to do whatever pleases them. They can call anyone in case they feel lonely, can drop by
McDonalds and buy supper rather than cook in the house. Single women, she claimed, can leave the
house anytime for a night–out as long as it is safe. They can also go for holidays without caring
about children, and can find time to sneak to their neighbors for a chat. This is almost impossible
for a married woman, who has to seek permission from her husband, besides hiring somebody to
take care of the

My Mother In My Life
My mother is a very complicated woman. I believe the best way to describe her would be, "the
road to hell is paved with good intentions." I know, weird way to start off my literary story, right?
As much as I do not like my mother, I love her, and respect her. While I am being honest, I owe my
work ethic and a vast majority of my success to her, as much as I hate to admit it. The way she
lived her life, most college graduates and the societal hoity toity types would raise their noses to.
However, you can't deny her dedication to her children and their education, she is the start of my
literacy journey. My mother wasn't always...how do it put this? Let's go with questionable, and she
was stable and the picture–perfect mother when she was married to my father. My mother and
father thought it would be beneficial for her to stay at home with my twin brother and I. Flash
cards were always there, before Kindergarten my mom made sure my twin and I could count to
100, we knew our ABC's, we could write our names, our parents' names, knew our address and
phone number. Every Thursday we went to the public library for story time and to pick out our
books for the week. Before nap and before bed we would read one of Miguel's books and one of
mine, some of the books we read so much that my brother and I memorized the stories. We would
even pretend to read those favorite stories. As the years went on and we went to school my mother
was super involved. She had all our grades emailed to her,

My Mother, My Friend
My Mother, My Friend It is not easy, moving back home with your parents as an adult. Especially
when you are the parent of grown children yourself. Due to circumstances beyond my control, that
is what I had to do. Although I had been out of my parents home for over thirty years and had
been married (and divorced) moving back home kind of felt like I had never left. I believe that is
because my parents were treating me as though I was the unruly teenager I once was. That and the
fact I was in MY bedroom. I choose to do my relationship analysis paper on my relationship with my
mother Juanita. My mom has Alzheimer's, and communication can be frustrating at times. The three
communication concepts I will focus on are, 1. Becoming a better listener, 2, Expressing myself
to her in a way she can better understand and 3. Paying better attention to her nonverbal cues. I
love my mother dearly, and want to be able to communicate with her the best we can. My mother
is one of the most important people in my life. In fact, she is probably THE most important
person in my life. She is beautiful, she is kind, she is thoughtful and she is honest. She is a good
wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There is not a mean bone in her body. I have
worked for the last fifteen years doing in Home Health Care for Alzheimer's patients and their
families, so when my mom got diagnosed I was devastated. I was devastated because I know how
this game ends, and it breaks my

My Most Important Mentors In My Life : My Mother
I could say I have many mentors in my life, but my most important mentor is my mom. A mentor
to me is someone who critically guides you through your life decisions and provokes endless
learning from their life experiences and wisdom. The only person who meets my idea of a
mentor is my mom. I have known her since birth and have always felt loved and cared by her. She
gives me every tool I could possibly need to succeed through primary school and onto
postsecondary schooling. She has always given me words of encouragement, been honest when I
am in the wrong, and has always pushed me to reach my potential. I went to my mom on a
Sunday, which is family day in our house. We went out to lunch with my brother since he was
visiting from college, and I got the opportunity to ask my mom about her views on Mitch's and
my topics. In my conversation with my mom we talked about three topics; A meaningful life,
Family, and Education. Mitch's first topic was what it means to have a meaningful life. My mom
believes that what it means to have a meaningful life, is that it should not be defined by money or
other people's opinions. But rather it should be defined by your happiness and compassion for the
things you do in your everyday life. When discussing Mitch's second topic, family, my mom
believes that the most important thing is that family is there for you to be honest, and to be critical
of your decisions in life. We both agreed they should be supportive of your passions and beliefs,

My Mother Is My Mom
Growing up I've always had my mom and my grandmother taking care of me but, at times my
mom would always have to work and I hated it. My mom worked late hours or went in early in the
morning. Everyday I always wondered why did she have to leave, why couldn't she just stay
home with us, was it that hard for her to just stay home? My granny did her very best taking care
of us and I loved her so much for that. There was still always this though in my head everyday that i
always thought of and that was "would mommy ever take off work and spend more time with us".
The story of my father he was not in my life much until i got older around 6 or 7 year old. Most of

love her like he should then i think she would not be out trying to find it. Her grandmother clearly
loved her enough and that's all she needed but that was not what Janie wanted.
Me and Janie and everyone else have been through many struggles but it's always that one
struggle that hits you the hardest. The situation with my mother i really didn't handle it to well i

hour she was gone, when she came home I was always happy. My father situation i handled it well
simply because, sometimes I really did not care most . I took this with me through my life because
as i got older i started to learn that my mother had no choice but to work because of the thing we

Essay On Mother Nature
Mother Nature is unpredictable. We are vulnerable to her great wrath and how it can produce
environmental disasters. In recent events, we have seen Hurricane Harvey not only destroy
buildings, homes, and environmental structures. It has also claimed the irreplaceable....lives. The
Governor of Florida articulated it best as he encouraged citizens to evacuate his state as Hurricane
Irma approached. He pleaded and stated, "We can rebuilt homes, but we can't rebuilt your life." As
society continues to research vulnerability to disaster, both for built systems and vulnerable
populations. Society must also recognizes that factors such as wealth and poverty, race and ethnicity,

This could never have been an option for poverty stricken citizens.
"In contrast with homeowners, renters are dependent on their landlords to carry out activities that
can reduce disaster vulnerabilities, such as making routine repairs and improvements, complying
with building and safety codes, and carrying out specific disaster loss–reduction measures" (Tierney,
2006, pg. 113). Citizens that live in poverty main objectives are; paying the rent to have a rough
over their heads and having food on the table. Their financial instabilities does not provide them the
luxuries of providing additional improvising to reduce disaster vulnerabilities. Additionally, many
can't even afford to evacuate; regardless, if the evacuation becomes mandated. Financially, they do
not have the additional financial resource to "just get up and go". History has shown that a majority

Race and Ethnicity
The United States has a diversity of race and ethnicity amongst its population. When some disasters
are predicated such as a known Hurricane that is predicted to be a Category Five. Scientist can
estimate the damages that it may cause, which will provide the advance notice for citizens to
evacuate. Regardless of advance notices, many citizens within specific race and ethnicity, don't even
speak the English language and don't understand the warnings. "Warnings cannot be issued for all
types of disasters, but even

Mother Reflection Paper
Since I've never sat and talked to my mom about how she felt about her life and her household,
this was an interesting experience for me. My mom never complains and always wants to make
sure we're okay so this was my first time hearing some of the things she shared with me. After
interviewing my mother, it made me look at her and our relationship extremely differently. It
made me appreciate her more and want to tell her that I love her way more. I never knew all the
sacrifices she made for us nor did I know details about her and my step dad's marriage. I'm so happy
I was able to do this assignment because it not only confirmed aspects of the class I've learned but
made the bond with my mom and I closer.
Usually, whenever I have conversations with my mom they're about school or my siblings so doing
this interview that was about her and how she felt about aspects of her life taught me alot. I learned
how much my mom has sacrificed for her family and how much being a mother means to her. She
informed me that her life isn't what she thought it would be but she wouldn't have it any other way.
Learning about gender roles and how women are suppose to be in this world from class became
more personal to me because my mother is actually living what society says women are suppose to
be. In the Women's Lives book the authors state, "One of the most intimate relationships a woman
can experience is her relationship with her child" (Etaugh 188). This sentence in the book proved
how my mother was describing her love for us and how we were the best things that has
happened to her. During our interview, she shared with me that she has never loved anyone like
she loves her children and she has never felt love like we love her. Women are suppose to take
care of the children, take care of the home, and be a good wife to their husband and my mom is
doing all and more. It was surprising to know that my mom doesn't miss working because while I
was young she was always employed and was very independent. Now that she is basically depending
on my step dad for the income in the household, it is very weird and interesting to me. Another thing
that I learned while interviewing my mother was her thoughts of social class. She shared with me

Narrative Essay : My Mom
For this narrative, I interviewed my mom, Amanda Lopez. At first, she seems mean. That's very
blunt but it's true. My mom is a very guarded and self–reserved person. She does have manners and
she is nice but, she won't open up immediately to a new person. She is also very hard working and
independent. She wasn't born with these qualities, she went through a lot of different struggles, but
that's how she ended up where she is today.
My mom didn't have a very good high school experience. Her mom always moved, which caused
her to move. Which caused her to have few friends. She never participated in sports or arts. She
mostly focused on her home life and school. Her mom never really supported her. When asked about
the future, she state "I never thought about the future, it was more of a day by day, moment by
moment kind of thing. How am I going to pay for this and when will I get my homework done?"
My mom had to buy her own clothes, pay the rent at her mom's house, and juggle school work. So,
as you can imagine, she had a lot on her plate. Although, she did have support from her aunt and
uncle. But, she still had to do a lot of things on her own. "Aunt Terri and I would go to her parent's
house and hang out on the farm. We would do every day normal stuff like baking and knitting."
Essentially, Aunt Terri was the mom she never had, she taught her basic skills and gave her tips on
different things. "They were the ones that came to my volleyball games and made cupcakes for the

A Mother's Love My mom has had the greatest impact on my life. She has always taught me to

recently passed away. I didn't really know my great–grandmother, but when my mom told me the
horrible news, my heart broke into a thousand pieces because I knew how much my mom loved
her grandmother. Later that week, we traveled to Great Bend for her funeral. It was a very
depressing day and all you could see were people weeping, but you could tell they were trying to
put a brave face on. My mom tried her hardest to keep her tears in, but she couldn't, it was just too
hard for her. I hugged my mom and told her that everything was going to be alright and that I love
her so much. My mom has her down moments, but she also has those exciting, fun moments. The
week before summer vacation in sixth grade, my mom and I decided to go to Elitch Gardens in
Denver, Colorado. The road trip was super fun, but there was quite a lot of traffic that day. Once
we arrived, we bought our tickets and went through security. The metal detector went off on my
mom because she forgot to put her phone in the box. Elitch Gardens was very crowded that day. We
couldn't get anywhere without bumping into all the sweaty people. The lines were super long and
all these little kids were fussing about waiting in line. We decided to get on the tallest wooden roller
coaster there,

My Mother And Mother
My mother was my primary caregiver throughout all of my childhood. While my father was in the
picture for a majority of my childhood, he was also a severe alcoholic which greatly impacted my
upbringing. My rules, obligations, and expectations were not always set in stone and did often
depend on the time, situation, and/or mood of my parents. I think it is normal for parents to differ
slightly in their parenting styles occasionally. As a young kid I remember my sister and I being very
aware that the mood my mother was in greatly contributed to the outcome of a question or event. I
think most, if not all of us can relate to this. Overall however, I would say that my mother had an
authoritative parenting style. My mother made is very clear that she was the parent and in charge,
however she was welcoming and understanding enough that I felt comfortable coming to her with
questions or problems. My mom was also very encouraging and supportive. She always pushed
me to do my best but never made me feel bad if I did not reach my goals. I was lucky to have such
a great relationship with my mom, not everyone does. As a young teenager I had many friends who
would come to me with questions and concerns because they knew my mom was so open–minded
and understanding. My mom was always my parent first and my friend second. I knew what was
expected of me and I was disciplined for bad behavior, however I always knew I could go to her with
anything I needed.
My father, like many addicts was

Essay About My Mother 's Pregnancy
They talked just long enough for my father to get what we wanted out of the deal. Shortly after, she
discovered that she was pregnant with me. I think it 's so funny now because my father likes to say
"I just blew on your mom, and she got pregnant. I don 't know how that happened." During my
mother 's pregnancy, she discovered a lot of things about my father that would make the average
woman infuriated. She found out that he already had a daughter (my oldest sister, Tia) with
another woman from his hometown, Detroit, Michigan. And while he was "seeing" her (for a
better choice of words) he was also "seeing" another woman who lived in the same area of the city
that she lived. And if that wasn 't enough, she found out that woman was also pregnant by my father
with my oldest brother, Angel, who is only five months older than me. To make it even worse, she
did not obtain any of this information from my father. She learned this information on a trip to the
mall, from a mutual friend that my mother and Angel 's mother did not know they shared. My
mother was extremely heartbroken and depressed after finding out all of this. She actually believed
that her and my father had a future together; which is a joke in itself knowing my father's past.
She was in a deep depression for a long period of time. But she knew that she would have to get over
it because she was about to have a daughter. She that she would have to raise me regardless if my
father were going to be in the picture

Definition Essay On Mother
What is a mother? Most with this title are indeed moms, but are they true "Mothers"? The title of
"Mother" holds great meaning with most people, including myself. It does not simply mean a mom.
No, a mother is the woman who nurtures you, holds us when no one else will and teach us lessons
that cannot be found or bought anywhere else, by anyone else. My Mother is a strong, determined,
hard working woman that has taught me the importance of putting others before myself. She has
sacrificed a great deal for our family and continues to teach me more and more no matter how old or
wise I think I get. She has shown amazing strength and determination. I believe my mother to be the
perfect example of how a true mother should be in her own imperfect way....show more content...
True wisdom is passed down from one generation to another and should be held among the highest
of values when passed on. The knowledge of just what true strength and determination is, is one
of the highest things i hold of value and will ensure my children value it the same. I will make
these attributes the base upon which my children will be built, just as my mother has done to me.
My children will not fail, they will not stay on the ground when knocked down, they will not give
in to the darkness that will surely challenge them in the future. They will not faulture because they
will be raised upon the powerful virtues of strength and determination. Just imagine if the other
kids of their generation were raised upon the same principles? Could you even imagine the benefits
and rewards that would be reaped? Imagine a generation shrouded in strength with a determined
mindset to make the world a better place. The things that they could achieve would be
incomprehensible. Therefore, we as a people must focus on sowing these values into the soon to be
generation so that the rewards reaped upon their arrival will be enough to change the world in which
they live in for the

What can one say about their mother? One may talk about her positive and negative characteristics.
There are so many great traits I love and admire about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair
to write about just one. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits,
which my mother possesses.
Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I
financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself. My mom gave her all, by that I
mean, she worked two jobs to make sure her children ate properly and that they had the essential
amenities to grow happily and successfully. Another way she supported us was with love and care.

prayer time to me and my brother's attention. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the
seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time
was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it.
One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us
with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle.
My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's
rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although my mother's intentions were good,
occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family, came
to my mother in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the
agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly installments. My mom never did see
the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give,
whether is it a donation, or volunteering your time in your community. My

Mother Tongue Essay
There are many bilingual and multicultural people in the world today. For many, the choices of
which language they use, and how they use it, correspond to what social or cultural community
they belong to. Amy Tan, a Chinese American novelist, portrays this well in her short essay
"Mother Tongue." Tan grew up in two vastly different worlds, using different "Englishes." The first
world, which consists of her close family, she speaks what we may call "broken" or "limited"
English. The second world, which is her business and professional world, Tan speaks and writes
perfect standard and academic English. Having to "shuttle" between these two communities with
very different languages has had many different positive and negative effects on...show more

She realized that her "mother tongue" has become their "language of intimacy, a different sort of
English that relates to family talk,..."(Tan 61) Her "mother tongue" is the English she uses while
she is in her first world, her private world, which is a completely different cultural community. As
Tan was growing up, the speech she used in her family environment affected her results on
various tests at school. Many other Asian Americans had this similar problem, and had teachers
"who are steering them away from writing and into math and science, which is what happened to
me(Tan)."(Tan 64) This is because Math has only one correct answer, whereas English was a
"matter of opinion and personal experience."(Tan 63) As a result of this, Tan drove herself to
disprove others assumptions and became an English major. She wrote in a way to prove her
"mastery" over the English language. An example she gives is this line, edited from the final
version of her book, "'That was my mental quandary in its nascent state.'"(Tan 65) This is the type
of language she uses in her professional life. Her words are "filled with carefully wrought
grammatical phrases...all the forms of standard English that (she) had learned in school and through
books."(Tan 61) Without realizing it at first, Tan widened the gap between her professional
community and her private family

Essay on A Caring Mother
[1] Tillie Olsen's "I stand Here Ironing" centers around two main characters: Emily and her mother.
While Emily's mother appears to be neglectful and at times selfish, upon further examination of her
character, voice and appeal to the reader's pathos, the mother actually holds her daughter's well being
above her own. The pair endure hardship throughout the text, but the mother always does the very
best she can to raise her daughter, making every decision with Emily's best interest as the central
factor. [2] As Olsen weaves her narrative, she hints and suggests details about the mother. Usually
mother makes an off–hand comment about something other than herself but the particular way the
thought is phrased and her choice of words says...show more content...
[4] A few paragraphs later, the mother reflects on Emily as a small infant and with a sorrowful
tone she recollects that "[Emily] was a miracle to me, but when she was eight months old, I had
to leave her daytimes [to work]" (671). Some may see this as neglect but it's clear that Emily's
mother had no choice. She doesn't stipulate that she wanted to leave her daytimes but that she
"had to". At this point in the story, Emily's father walks out and is no longer part of her life,
leaving the sole responsibility on Emily's mother. This story is set in the 1930's and 1940's which
were a difficult set of years by any account, harder still for a single mother, but the narrator
perseveres. Eager to spend as much time with Emily as possible, the mother re–arranged her work
schedule to be with Emily during the day, and when she came home, she'd run from the street car

Being A Mother : My Life Of My Mother
My mother is the most diligent worker I know and I highly respect her for that. My mom, sister,
and I moved across the globe to find better opportunities for jobs and Education. She worked two
jobs as a single mother, and was still able to take care of and support my sister and me in anything
we aspired to do. Being a mother itself is difficult enough because it is an everyday job with no
brakes or vacation. She is the person who inspires me and the person who motivates me to do my
best at everything I do. To her, my sister and I's happiness was worth more to her than her own and
for that I truly believe she is the best person in the world. Even when things get hard for her, she
does not take time out for herself. During the death of my grandfather, she had no time to grieve
over him because she told us that she has work to keep my sister and I fed and happy. That was
when I realized that if she is going through all the gruelling effort just to keep me and my sister
happy, then my goal in life would just to give back to her by making her proud of me. With her as
my motivation I joined things that would make her proud. Freshmen year, I auditioned for the high
school traveling band, which was a truly challenging band to get into. I was one of only six
freshmen to get in. Joining that band allowed me to experience my first time traveling with the
school across the country to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, one of the most prestigious
halls to perform in the world. I

Descriptive Essay About My Mother
No matter how hard life gets for me and how chaotic things can become there has always been one
person that I can turn to, my mom. She's been a wealth of advice to call on when I'm clueless and
a shoulder to cry on when I'm down. Her compassion for others inspires me to be a better person
as does the guidance she has given me over the years. She's not afraid to give me a reality check
and to tell me the things I don't want to hear even though I need to. She keeps me grounded and
teaches me to appreciate the smaller things in life. Even though my dad was still involved in my life
after my parents split up it was my mother who I primarily lived with and it was her who had the
greatest influence on my life growing up. Anyone who has known my...show more content...
Heaven help you if you do anything to endanger her family. My mom also does not go soft on her
kids; she can be a formidable disciplinarian when she wants to and will not hesitate to set us
straight when we broke the rules. She won't let anybody walk over her and is really quick to anger
if you try. My mother is strong–willed and stubborn; when she sets her mind to something almost
nothing will stop her and what an impossible feat it is to change her mind on something. She is
very impatient; when she wants something done she wants it done at this very moment, no later.
She is idealistic and she enjoys the simpler things that life has to offer. She loves nature and would
love nothing more than to be living in a cabin in the mountains while listening to country music.
She does not pay much attention to news happening outside her local area and prefers to focus on
what's happening in her immediate area. From my mother I have learned how to be the person that
I am today. Through her I have learned the importance of family and that it is paramount to spend
time with them while I still have it. Even now I try to spend time with my family when I have the
opportunity to. Form her I have learned compassion for those around me and for animals. Even

Mother Essay : My Mother
My Mom Moms are the most special and pure beings in the world. They are that being who gives
everything for love, for her home, for her children and grandchildren. The mother is such a blessed
woman that she endures so many things for the sake of her children, while many times we are
ungrateful to them, assuming that our mothers will always be there for us.
When moms still there with you, it is fortunate to have her, because the kind of love she gives is the
purest you can ever find. My mom, for example, is very special to me, since she has taught me
how to live and how to value things in life. She has always been present at all times and has not
spent a single day in which she has forgotten to give me her blessing. she is the one who...show more

She always encourages me to work hard, stay focus and never give up. She has been a great example
of how to be an excellent mother and wife. What I admire most about her is that when I was a baby
she used to work everyday and I am surprised that she always had time for me and her work, I mean
that working and taking care of a baby is very difficult. Everyday she gets up to work, to be sure that
I have everything I need. She's a mother and wife focused on giving her family the best of her. If my
family were in need, she would do whatever it takes to get what is needed.
Another reason why my mother is very special is because she always makes space and takes time
to go to my volleyball games. She sometimes has to drive three or four hours and stay in a hotel
just to be present in my games. She gets really involved in the game, she cheers a lot, and she is
my number one cheerleader. My mom sometimes takes goodies to treat my teammates. They all
respect and love her because how she treats everyone on the team. She gets excited and has a lot
of fun in my games. I'm thankful for what my mom has done for me. Everyday she's looking for
different ways to improve my lifestyle. The sacrifices she has to make to help me move forward is
something I will never be able to pay her back. There's nothing better than share with her my
challenges and achievements. I always ask God to bless me allowing me to have

Essay about Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa
There are many people in this world that we consider great humanitarians. Mother Teresa was a
unique individual that stood out of the crowd because of her involvement in helping the sick, poor
and dying. She spent everyday of her adulthood caring for people that were in need by setting up
the Missionary of Charity along with many homes for the people she cared for. Mother Teresa won
many awards throughout her lifetime for her dedication to care for people in need. It is no wonder
that Mother Teresa won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and is considered a saint.

In 1948, he was granted permission to leave her job to "follow Christ into the slums."3
She began by starting an open–air school for the children of Calcutta. She did not have any funding
for her school, but that did not stop Mother Teresa. After a couple years many people started
volunteering and helped fund the school.
In 1948, Mother Teresa came across the first woman she cared for. She found a dying woman that
was half eaten by rats and ants lying on the streets of Calcutta. Mother Teresa took the lady to the
hospital, but they refused to admit her. She then would not leave the hospital until they accepted the
lady, and stayed by her side until she died. From that point on she dedicated the majority of her life
to caring for the poor.
Just two years later in 1950, Mother Teresa and her associates were approved within the
archdiocese of Calcutta as the Missionary of Charity. After hearing this she went to the town hall
to ask for a place she could take these people and care for them. An employee of health services
took her to the Temple of Kali, which became known as Nirmal Hrida, which means pure heart.
Nirmal Hirda also became known as the home of the dying. Within 24 hours Mother Teresa and her
fellow sisters started gathering dying Indians from the streets of Calcutta and brought them to
Nirmal Hriday. There, they were cared for, during the last moments of their lives.
Although more than half of these people that were brought to

Mother to Mother The purpose of this paper is to introduce, discuss, and analyze the book "Mother
to Mother" by Sindiwe Magona. Specifically, it will critically analyze the book. The book "Mother
to Mother" is a touching and elegant story of race relations and misunderstanding in South Africa.
The author bases her book on a true incident, but looks at it from the eyes of a mother who loves
her son but recognizes his inadequacies. It is a devastating look at apartheid, violence, and anger in
a society long split between black and white. Well–written with emotion and pathos, it is a book that
discovers the difficulties of reconciliation and continuing with life after the death of a loved one.
This emotional book looks at...show more content...
Clearly, she should have known the dangers of what she was doing, rather than looking at her
situation only idealistically. Mandisa, the mother in the story, does not make excuses for her son,
she knows his act was reprehensible, but she does understand his young life has been filled with
despair, betrayal, and difficulty. She notes, "Understand the people among whom he has lived all
his life. Nothing my son does surprises me any more. Not after that first unbelievable shock, his
implanting himself inside me; unreasonably and totally destroying the me I was. The me I would
have become" (Magona). Mandisa gave birth to her son when she was only fifteen, and it changed
her life, just as it would change the young white girl's life eventually. In an interview about the
book, author Magona elaborates: It is a well–known fact that children of children are at high risk of
not finishing school. Mandisa is a perfect example of the success of apartheid––she is the perfect
product of that system––her talent is stillborn; so is that of her children. Society will never benefit
from the gifts they brought to the world. I firmly believe no child is born without potential. Thus, by
neglecting the young, we deny ourselves great blessings and

Autobiography Of My Mother
My mother is mestiza, my father is mestizo, my brother is mestizo, my tias, my tios, as am I. All
mestizos. I've been told I am worthy of praise because I carry your language on my tongue without
an accent, because I had an American education, because I can recite allegiance to your country. I
am told I am worthy because I could assimilate to the culture, unlike my parents. I am often
presented with shocked faces when I speak my second language, English, faces that always tell me
that they would have never guessed I spoke so perfectly, thinking they'd have to work twice as hard
to understand my heavy, foreign accent–the same accent my parents have. On top of that, I am the
color of the sun reigning on my skin. I found from my 17 years here, it does not matter whether
you are the color of milk or whether I speak English without an accent, the moment I speak
Spanish and invite someone outside of my culture into my home and they notice I have Caso
Cerrado on TV or see my mother swinging her hips to Vicente Fernandez, I am no longer White to
them or "an insider." I am other, an outsider. A "dangerous" outsider. "Ni de aqui, ni de aca." "Ni de
aqui," not White enough, deemed too Mexican. "Ni de aca," not Mexican enough, mestiza, and too
whitewashed. Linda Alcoff (2006) said that after both her and her sister became "highly assimilated,"
they found that the process created feelings of alienation, inferiority, and inadequacy (p. 266). They

My Reflection On My Mother Essay
A mother is someone who can take the place of all others but no one can take the place of her.
There are many different definitions you could use to describe your mother. My mother, Pam Krull,
fits every one of those. Today I decided to pick the three that I thought was most important to me. I
admire and aspire to be like my mother because of how supportive, how selfless, and how loving
she is. My mom has gone through a lot to get where she is today. I will begin by telling you a little
bit about my mom's background. My mom grew up outside of George with her parents, Harris and
Bev Kaster, and her three siblings, Erik, Brad, and Kristy. She attended George High School
when they were still Blue Jays. My mom was involved in a lot of different activities. She was in
the play, large group and individual speech, a cheerleader, played the drums in band, was in
student council, secretary of her class, REC club, band, and jazz band. In her free time she hung
out with friends and her sister. She had a few jobs growing up also. She babysat a lot, worked at
the library, and the dentist office. My mother also helped teach bible school, catechism, and attended
youth group at Hope Reformed Church. My mother met my dad, Doug Krull when she was a junior
in high school. They dated for a while and ended getting married. They then had three beautiful
daughters, Allyssa, Megan, and Rebecca. My mom went to Northwestern College in Orange City,
Iowa, to get her education

Essay Mother

  • 1. My Mother: The Best Mother My mother has many wonderful traits, but there's a few that stand out. First of all, her wisdom is outstanding. She provides great advice no matter the situation. Also, I'd say she has a positive mentality. She always has this optimistic point of view for everything. Ultimately, the trait that stands out in her the most is compassion. It's incredible the way she shows compassion towards everyone. Her way of demonstrating compassion is very unique. She always puts herself in everyone else's shoes, without naming their flaws. Overall, she the best mother I could have asked for. Ever since day one, she has proven to be a wise woman. When preparing for a test she helps me by giving me useful advice on how to mentally prepare for it. When in doubt...show more content... As soon as we saw my father sitting in the waiting room my mother ran up him to ask him what did the doctors say about my brother. He said that due to his grave condition he had to be placed in intensive care. That as soon as my brother's condition stabilized, we would be able to see him. My mother was trying to be strong, I could see it in her eyes and in the way she talked. Since time was passing by and we were already tired, my father took us to a hotel and left us there. He then went back to the hospital with my mother. Days went by and little improvement was shown, things were beginning to look good. Nurses informed us that we were able to see my brother. But only two people can be in the room at once. So both of my parents went in first. Then after a while, my brothers and I went in. He was in a bed asleep, he looked tired and exhausted. We decided to leave and let him rest. Finally, a doctor came out the door and through the hallway looking for my parents. My mother quickly stood up and asked him how was my brother doing. The doctor said that my brother had the flu and two other viruses that he had encountered most probably in the previous hospital. • 2. Mother Definition Essay Growing up, I was used to being bombarded by stories from both my mother and father. My mother with her religious stories, and my father with his experiences from when he was a little boy living in Vietnam. What I noticed in all of my mother's stories, was that she was trying to get a certain message across. Be good. If there is anything that my mother is more stern on then studies, it would be on being a "good" person that knows their morals and can perfectly execute and stand by it. My mother's definition of "good", is being selfless, caring, and honest, by being so you will be rewarded by having to the choice to go to Heaven, or to get reincarnated into a higher position in society. My mother made it her duty to raise me with the same morals as her since she believed that hers was "right". She believed that the perfect human being was one that was always willing to give and one who was always honest....show more content... He does not know whether or not God or exists, or if there is a higher being, but what he does know is he saw a ghost, which lead him to believe in an afterlife. My father's way of thinking is similar to that Aristotle's. Aristotle believed that through our senses, we will find truth. That first, we use senses, and then use reason afterwards to categorize the things we experience. My father used his senses, sight, to establish that there is an afterlife. My mother is like my father, in the sense that they both believe in an afterlife. However, unlike my father, my mother is a very religious woman who is very faithful to her Catholic beliefs, although with some altercations. My mother believes that when a person dies, they will get to have the choice of whether they want to go to Heaven, or get reincarnated into a person with a higher social standing in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

According to many women, being a mother is so demanding that a mother hardly finds time to visit friends or even family members. Daisy Mckinney is a thirty–one–year–old resident of Aurora in Arapahoe County, Colorado. I have known Daisy for about three years now since we both live in the same neighborhood, but we rarely meet. When we do, she always grumbled of being lonely and busy. Her husband has just been transferred to another state, and this has exacerbated her situation. I decided to pay her a visit to understand her predicaments because she seemed to be withdrawn and desperate for something. Despite having a decent job,...show more content... She has to take care of everything at home because she does not have a house–help. She dreads that she might suffer from depression, but she does not sound like she was depressed at all. Sometimes she gets frustrated and angry, but knowing that she has somebody to look after, she endeavors to move on, hoping that things will change in the future. Even when loneliness creeps up her heart and make her feel sorry wishing that something different would happen to transform her current situation, Daisy always look forward for the time that her husband would rejoin them and live as a complete family. She longs for the time that she would be seeing her husband every day, in addition to visiting her siblings whenever she has time. Consequently, Daisy conceded that sometimes she envy single women because they are always free to do whatever pleases them. They can call anyone in case they feel lonely, can drop by McDonalds and buy supper rather than cook in the house. Single women, she claimed, can leave the house anytime for a night–out as long as it is safe. They can also go for holidays without caring about children, and can find time to sneak to their neighbors for a chat. This is almost impossible for a married woman, who has to seek permission from her husband, besides hiring somebody to take care of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Mother In My Life My mother is a very complicated woman. I believe the best way to describe her would be, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." I know, weird way to start off my literary story, right? As much as I do not like my mother, I love her, and respect her. While I am being honest, I owe my work ethic and a vast majority of my success to her, as much as I hate to admit it. The way she lived her life, most college graduates and the societal hoity toity types would raise their noses to. However, you can't deny her dedication to her children and their education, she is the start of my literacy journey. My mother wasn't always...how do it put this? Let's go with questionable, and she was stable and the picture–perfect mother when she was married to my father. My mother and father thought it would be beneficial for her to stay at home with my twin brother and I. Flash cards were always there, before Kindergarten my mom made sure my twin and I could count to 100, we knew our ABC's, we could write our names, our parents' names, knew our address and phone number. Every Thursday we went to the public library for story time and to pick out our books for the week. Before nap and before bed we would read one of Miguel's books and one of mine, some of the books we read so much that my brother and I memorized the stories. We would even pretend to read those favorite stories. As the years went on and we went to school my mother was super involved. • 5. My Mother, My Friend My Mother, My Friend It is not easy, moving back home with your parents as an adult. Especially when you are the parent of grown children yourself. Due to circumstances beyond my control, that is what I had to do. Although I had been out of my parents home for over thirty years and had been married (and divorced) moving back home kind of felt like I had never left. I believe that is because my parents were treating me as though I was the unruly teenager I once was. That and the fact I was in MY bedroom. I choose to do my relationship analysis paper on my relationship with my mother Juanita. My mom has Alzheimer's, and communication can be frustrating at times. The three communication concepts I will focus on are, 1. Becoming a better listener, 2, Expressing myself to her in a way she can better understand and 3. Paying better attention to her nonverbal cues. I love my mother dearly, and want to be able to communicate with her the best we can. My mother is one of the most important people in my life. In fact, she is probably THE most important person in my life. She is beautiful, she is kind, she is thoughtful and she is honest. She is a good wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There is not a mean bone in her body. I have worked for the last fifteen years doing in Home Health Care for Alzheimer's patients and their families, so when my mom got diagnosed I was devastated. • 6. My Most Important Mentors In My Life : My Mother I could say I have many mentors in my life, but my most important mentor is my mom. A mentor to me is someone who critically guides you through your life decisions and provokes endless learning from their life experiences and wisdom. The only person who meets my idea of a mentor is my mom. I have known her since birth and have always felt loved and cared by her. She gives me every tool I could possibly need to succeed through primary school and onto postsecondary schooling. She has always given me words of encouragement, been honest when I am in the wrong, and has always pushed me to reach my potential. I went to my mom on a Sunday, which is family day in our house. We went out to lunch with my brother since he was visiting from college, and I got the opportunity to ask my mom about her views on Mitch's and my topics. In my conversation with my mom we talked about three topics; A meaningful life, Family, and Education. Mitch's first topic was what it means to have a meaningful life. My mom believes that what it means to have a meaningful life, is that it should not be defined by money or other people's opinions. But rather it should be defined by your happiness and compassion for the things you do in your everyday life. When discussing Mitch's second topic, family, my mom believes that the most important thing is that family is there for you to be honest, and to be critical of your decisions in life. My mom worked late hours or went in early in the morning. Everyday I always wondered why did she have to leave, why couldn't she just stay home with us, was it that hard for her to just stay home? My granny did her very best taking care of us and I loved her so much for that. There was still always this though in my head everyday that i always thought of and that was "would mommy ever take off work and spend more time with us". • 9. Mother Reflection Paper Since I've never sat and talked to my mom about how she felt about her life and her household, this was an interesting experience for me. My mom never complains and always wants to make sure we're okay so this was my first time hearing some of the things she shared with me. After interviewing my mother, it made me look at her and our relationship extremely differently. It made me appreciate her more and want to tell her that I love her way more. I never knew all the sacrifices she made for us nor did I know details about her and my step dad's marriage. I'm so happy I was able to do this assignment because it not only confirmed aspects of the class I've learned but made the bond with my mom and I closer. Usually, whenever I have conversations with my mom they're about school or my siblings so doing this interview that was about her and how she felt about aspects of her life taught me alot. I learned how much my mom has sacrificed for her family and how much being a mother means to her. She informed me that her life isn't what she thought it would be but she wouldn't have it any other way. Learning about gender roles and how women are suppose to be in this world from class became more personal to me because my mother is actually living what society says women are suppose to be. In the Women's Lives book the authors state, "One of the most intimate relationships a woman can experience is her relationship with her child" (Etaugh 188). This sentence in the book proved how my mother was describing her love for us and how we were the best things that has happened to her. During our interview, she shared with me that she has never loved anyone like she loves her children and she has never felt love like we love her. Women are suppose to take care of the children, take care of the home, and be a good wife to their husband and my mom is doing all and more. It was surprising to know that my mom doesn't miss working because while I was young she was always employed and was very independent. Now that she is basically depending on my step dad for the income in the household, it is very weird and interesting to me. Another thing that I learned while interviewing my mother was her thoughts of social class. She shared with me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Narrative Essay : My Mom For this narrative, I interviewed my mom, Amanda Lopez. At first, she seems mean. That's very blunt but it's true. My mom is a very guarded and self–reserved person. She does have manners and she is nice but, she won't open up immediately to a new person. She is also very hard working and independent. She wasn't born with these qualities, she went through a lot of different struggles, but that's how she ended up where she is today. My mom didn't have a very good high school experience. Her mom always moved, which caused her to move. Which caused her to have few friends. She never participated in sports or arts. She mostly focused on her home life and school. Her mom never really supported her. When asked about the future, she state "I never thought about the future, it was more of a day by day, moment by moment kind of thing. How am I going to pay for this and when will I get my homework done?" My mom had to buy her own clothes, pay the rent at her mom's house, and juggle school work. So, as you can imagine, she had a lot on her plate. Although, she did have support from her aunt and uncle. But, she still had to do a lot of things on her own. "Aunt Terri and I would go to her parent's house and hang out on the farm. We would do every day normal stuff like baking and knitting." Essentially, Aunt Terri was the mom she never had, she taught her basic skills and gave her tips on different things. While my father was in the picture for a majority of my childhood, he was also a severe alcoholic which greatly impacted my upbringing. My rules, obligations, and expectations were not always set in stone and did often depend on the time, situation, and/or mood of my parents. I think it is normal for parents to differ slightly in their parenting styles occasionally. As a young kid I remember my sister and I being very aware that the mood my mother was in greatly contributed to the outcome of a question or event. I think most, if not all of us can relate to this. Overall however, I would say that my mother had an authoritative parenting style. My mother made is very clear that she was the parent and in charge, however she was welcoming and understanding enough that I felt comfortable coming to her with questions or problems. My mom was also very encouraging and supportive. She always pushed me to do my best but never made me feel bad if I did not reach my goals. I was lucky to have such a great relationship with my mom, not everyone does. As a young teenager I had many friends who would come to me with questions and concerns because they knew my mom was so open–minded and understanding. • 13. Essay About My Mother 's Pregnancy They talked just long enough for my father to get what we wanted out of the deal. Shortly after, she discovered that she was pregnant with me. I think it 's so funny now because my father likes to say "I just blew on your mom, and she got pregnant. I don 't know how that happened." During my mother 's pregnancy, she discovered a lot of things about my father that would make the average woman infuriated. She found out that he already had a daughter (my oldest sister, Tia) with another woman from his hometown, Detroit, Michigan. And while he was "seeing" her (for a better choice of words) he was also "seeing" another woman who lived in the same area of the city that she lived. And if that wasn 't enough, she found out that woman was also pregnant by my father with my oldest brother, Angel, who is only five months older than me. To make it even worse, she did not obtain any of this information from my father. She learned this information on a trip to the mall, from a mutual friend that my mother and Angel 's mother did not know they shared. My mother was extremely heartbroken and depressed after finding out all of this. She actually believed that her and my father had a future together; which is a joke in itself knowing my father's past. She was in a deep depression for a long period of time. • 17. Mother Tongue Essay There are many bilingual and multicultural people in the world today. For many, the choices of which language they use, and how they use it, correspond to what social or cultural community they belong to. Amy Tan, a Chinese American novelist, portrays this well in her short essay "Mother Tongue." Tan grew up in two vastly different worlds, using different "Englishes." The first world, which consists of her close family, she speaks what we may call "broken" or "limited" English. The second world, which is her business and professional world, Tan speaks and writes perfect standard and academic English. She realized that her "mother tongue" has become their "language of intimacy, a different sort of English that relates to family talk,..."(Tan 61) Her "mother tongue" is the English she uses while she is in her first world, her private world, which is a completely different cultural community. As Tan was growing up, the speech she used in her family environment affected her results on various tests at school. Many other Asian Americans had this similar problem, and had teachers "who are steering them away from writing and into math and science, which is what happened to me(Tan)."(Tan 64) This is because Math has only one correct answer, whereas English was a "matter of opinion and personal experience."(Tan 63) As a result of this, Tan drove herself to disprove others assumptions and became an English major. She wrote in a way to prove her "mastery" over the English language. An example she gives is this line, edited from the final version of her book, "'That was my mental quandary in its nascent state.'"(Tan 65) This is the type of language she uses in her professional life. Her words are "filled with carefully wrought grammatical phrases...all the forms of standard English that (she) had learned in school and through books."(Tan 61) Without realizing it at first, Tan widened the gap between her professional community and her private family Get more content on HelpWriting.net

While Emily's mother appears to be neglectful and at times selfish, upon further examination of her character, voice and appeal to the reader's pathos, the mother actually holds her daughter's well being above her own. The pair endure hardship throughout the text, but the mother always does the very best she can to raise her daughter, making every decision with Emily's best interest as the central factor. Some may see this as neglect but it's clear that Emily's mother had no choice. She doesn't stipulate that she wanted to leave her daytimes but that she "had to". At this point in the story, Emily's father walks out and is no longer part of her life, leaving the sole responsibility on Emily's mother. This story is set in the 1930's and 1940's which were a difficult set of years by any account, harder still for a single mother, but the narrator perseveres. Eager to spend as much time with Emily as possible, the mother re–arranged her work schedule to be with Emily during the day, and when she came home, she'd run from the street car and up the stairs so that she might hold Emily that much sooner. She clearly loved Emily deeply and didn't want to be away from her as she went to sizeable lengths to spend as much time with Emily as she could. My mom, sister, and I moved across the globe to find better opportunities for jobs and Education. She worked two jobs as a single mother, and was still able to take care of and support my sister and me in anything we aspired to do. Being a mother itself is difficult enough because it is an everyday job with no brakes or vacation. She is the person who inspires me and the person who motivates me to do my best at everything I do. To her, my sister and I's happiness was worth more to her than her own and for that I truly believe she is the best person in the world. Even when things get hard for her, she does not take time out for herself. During the death of my grandfather, she had no time to grieve over him because she told us that she has work to keep my sister and I fed and happy. That was when I realized that if she is going through all the gruelling effort just to keep me and my sister happy, then my goal in life would just to give back to her by making her proud of me. With her as my motivation I joined things that would make her proud. Freshmen year, I auditioned for the high school traveling band, which was a truly challenging band to get into. I was one of only six freshmen to get in. The book "Mother to Mother" is a touching and elegant story of race relations and misunderstanding in South Africa. The author bases her book on a true incident, but looks at it from the eyes of a mother who loves her son but recognizes his inadequacies. She notes, "Understand the people among whom he has lived all his life. Nothing my son does surprises me any more. Not after that first unbelievable shock, his implanting himself inside me; unreasonably and totally destroying the me I was. The me I would have become" (Magona). Mandisa gave birth to her son when she was only fifteen, and it changed her life, just as it would change the young white girl's life eventually. I've been told I am worthy of praise because I carry your language on my tongue without an accent, because I had an American education, because I can recite allegiance to your country. I am told I am worthy because I could assimilate to the culture, unlike my parents. I am often presented with shocked faces when I speak my second language, English, faces that always tell me that they would have never guessed I spoke so perfectly, thinking they'd have to work twice as hard to understand my heavy, foreign accent–the same accent my parents have.
