2. Playground Safety of Talad Kreab Sub-district Municipality was a lawn with sandy soil. The
playground equipment was not bolted to the ground. Sometimes children fell off the equipment
and got bruised on their bodies. Some children are clutched by the equipment, because they are
not bolted to the ground and unstable. Data from the trauma center for children in the year
2013, the past incidents of children playground in the center of the nine cases. From data of child
development center, there were 9 cases of children falling off playground equipment. Most of
cases are falling, knees, arms, hands and head were bruised. Childcare teachers are exploring the
risks and causes of child injuries in playground.

than 30 cm and to attach the
equipment to the ground as safety
requirements.

-Build the cement barrier around the ground to keep the sand out
-Place old tires as cushions around the ground’s field

right way and be closely supervised while playing.

risky spots of playground and collect data of child injuries
at least once a month, report to the Management Team or
Research Center by comparing the results before and after.
11. Reduce childinjuriesfrom playing the playgroundequipment by
measuring the data of risky spots and statistics of injuries in
children. Child Development Center of Talad Kreab Sub-
district Municipality found that there is none of accidents and
child injuries from playground equipment at all after the project
began, comparing with 9 cases of child injuries in 2013.

13. Having a safe playground has led no children injured in the playing field, according to
teacher’s reports. In addition to building safety of playground equipment, some children may
have some accidental falls, but as dangerous as the so-called accidents and injuries. The care
and teaching children learn how to play safely allows children to be more vigilant to prevent an
injury.
