2. Andy Warhol was born in
the United States.

3. His family was from
Slovakia.

4. When he was a child he was
sick. He played with his
camera at home.

5. He loved tomato
soup.

6. He painted
butterflies
and sold
his
pictures
when he
was 10.

7. His dream was to be
a tap dancer.

8. He moved to New York
to work as a commercial
artist.

9. The blotted line drawing was
his technique to print
paintings. He used ink,
paintbrushes and tracing
paper.

10. His mother helped him.
She did the curly handwriting on Andy´s paintings.

11. He liked to draw cakes,
shoes…

12. … and Christmas Cards.

13. He called his studio “The Factory”.

14. Pop Art means POPULAR.
He made art from everyday objects.

17. He also painted
flowers.

19. He painted lots of animals in funny
colours.

cows in
different
colours and a
whole wall
full of pink
cows.

21. He had 25 cats, all of them named
Sam, and one blue pussy named
Hester.

22. His cats gave him the idea of
printing the same painting
several times, that´s how he
sold many paintings and lots
of people knew him.

25. This “kiss” from Andy to his friend Elizabeth
Taylor, written in a little piece of paper costs
$8000

26. He made over 650
films.

27. One of the films was called
Sleep which showed nothing
but a man sleeping for six
hours!

28. Another film, called Kiss showed various
couples kissing for 3½ minutes each.

29. He became world famous.
He had a TV show and published many
books.
