The Barrington Area Library subscribes to a resume review service for library patrons. Access from the library or remotely with your Barrington Area Library card and upload a resume and cover letter for a review to proofread and critique. Log back in the next day to download your feedback.

1. Adult Learning Center
Online resume review service (cover letters, too!)

2. Go to balibrary.org and click on
“Databases”

3. Select / click on the “Adult
Learning Center” link. If you
are outside of the library, you
will then need to enter a
Barrington Area Library card
number to proceed.

4. Once you have entered the Adult Learning
Center, click on “Write A Winning Resume”.

5. Select “Upload Resume” to select your
resume (Microsoft Word of PDF document) to
upload to a reviewer.

6. Create an account by clicking “Sign Up”.

7. Fill out the fields above to create an account. Save
your username and password, since you will need
them to sign in again and retrieve your feedback.
Click “Next” when finished.

8. Use the “Browse” button to select a resume
and/or cover letter saved on your computer. This
file will be uploaded to the review service. If you
can add any additional information that would help
the reviewer, you can use the text field before you
submit.

9. Retrieving feedback
• After you upload your resume, log back into the Resume
Review service (www.balibrary.org > research > business,
careers, technology > Adult Learning Center > Write A
Winning Resume > sign in with user name and password.
Follow slides 2-7). Your feedback should be posted in
approx 24 hours.
• Click on “Upload Resume” again, and you should see your
feedback below the file you uploaded for review. Click the
new files to download and open them.
