This document outlines a smart doorbell project created by a batch of students. It discusses improving security and automation for homes. The existing systems have issues like wasted time reviewing footage and a lack of remote control. The proposed system uses image processing and sensors to detect intruders and notify users. It allows remote monitoring and control of appliances even when away from home. The project aims to design an easy to use home automation system that decreases costs while improving security and convenience.

3. Abstract
Smart doorbells allow home owners to receive alerts when a
visitor is at the door, see who the guest is, and communicate
with the visitor from a smart device.
They greatly improve people’s life quality and contribute to
the evolution of smart homes.
It connects a WiFi-enabled device to a network and enables
the home owner to answer the bell triggered by the dash
button using a smartphone.
4. Introduction
Safety and security of any living or working place is one of the most
primary concerns. One of the reasons for the rise of the smart home is
the Increasing risk of burglary and robbery and the busy lifestyle.
So here is a method Proposed to make a home secured with the help
of Arduino, Image processing along with some sensors.
This project also aims to provide home automation using IOT and
hence it is used as a multi-purpose system.
5. Existing System
The existing system has a few issues related the face detection
,voice transmission.
There are no notification or updating about the status of the
device to the user
People usually are outside the home for many reasons like
travelling.
For example they want to turn off the light and operate some
electronic devices at room and get feedback about the
temperature and total control on their home, that isn’t possible in
the existing system
No automatic motion detected in the existing system.
There is no environmental condition based device controlling and
monitoring.
6. Drawbacks of Existing System
Wastage of time in viewing hours of empty footage.
Continuous surveillance.
Does not give any alert about the intruder.
Multiple camera-Based security system.
Memory management is not concentrated.
In terms of home automation needs to be manually controlled.
7. Problem Statement
The main drawback of the present security system is
that one should wait for hours of footage which is a
mere wastage of time.
In case of emergency situations like gas leakages, fire
accidents immediate actions cannot be taken.
People may forget to switch off the lights in home or
office in their absence which leads wastage of power.
8. Proposed System
Specific surveillance.
System provides alert only in the presence of intruder using
GSM Modem.
Single camera-Based security system.
Memory management is concentrated.
IOT based home automation system.
9. Advantages of Proposed System
Time management is one of the advantage that is taken into
consideration in this system.
Memory management is the key factor which is utilized in an efficient
way.
Even though the owner is away from his office or home, he`ll be
capable of tracking and will be aware of security of his home or office.
In case of emergency situations like gas leakages, fire accidents
immediate actions can be taken.
People may forget to switch off the lights in home or office in their
absence which leads wastage of power , this can be easily avoided with
the help of IOT.
This is the best solution for elders and even for physically disabled
person to operate equipments(electrical).
10. Expected Outcome
The main objectives of this research is to design and implement a
home automation and security by using system using Arduino and
Image Processing (laptop) .
Capable of controlling and automating most of the house appliances
through an easy manageable interface.
The proposed system has a great feature of face recognition for
security
This will decrease the deployment cost and will increase the ability of
upgrading, and system reconfiguration.
