- CRT/N celebrated its 25th year of service on 8th August 2014. Established 25 years ago to develop, promote and disseminate environmentally sound rural/appropriate technologies Major Areas of Operation are: Renewable energy technologies for increasing access to modern energy Renewable energy based micro-enterprises Gender mainstreaming and social inclusion Technologies of CRT/N works with are: Biomass-based technologies - Household/ Institutional Improved Cooking Stoves (ICS/IICS), rocket stove; Bio-briquette/Charcoal Hydro-based technologies - Improved Water Mill (IWM), electrification; Hydraulic Ram Pump Solar-based technologies - Solar cookers; Solar dryers
- Regional Cookstoves Testing and Knowledge Centre is roofed under Centre for Rural Technology Nepal. It is been supported by Global Alliance for Clean Cookstovs led by United Nations Foundation to save lives, improve livelihoods, empower women, and combat climate change by creating a thriving global market for clean and efficient household cooking solutions. The laboratory had been formally inaugurated in June 6, 2013 in the presence of Prof Dr. Govind Raj Pokharel, the then Executive Director of AEPC and renowned cardiologist, Dr. Mrigendra Raj Pandey.
- Besides the laboratory facilities – RTKC has been involved in developing and enhancing the capacity of human resources in the country and advocating for standardization of technology, methods of testing and updating and participating ourselves with global happening in the development of International Standards of Clean cookstoves and Clean Cooking Solutions. Some of the flagship activities in the past were: 1. Labset up and WBT Training April 2013 2. National Wokshop on Standards and Testing of Cookstoves held in July 2013 3. Training and Capacity Building workshop on Programme Effectiveness July 2013 3. 4. Stoves Testing and Design Workshop held in Sept. 2013 5. CCT Training Sept. 2013 5. Student research support Programmes among others.
- The NACC is an alliance of organizations engaged in all renewable clean cooking technologies including Improved Cookstoves, solar cookers, biogas and electricity based cooking with its secretariat at AEPC. It was Launched on 10th July 2013 for effective coordination and synergy towards CCS4ALL. Recently celebrated its annual day.
