3. Basics of Airsoft Game
In an airsoft game, there would be two main
groups, irrespective of the number of people
playing. The objective is to shoot out the
opponents with BB guns. On being shot, the
player is expected to leave the game. Each
player is expected to be honest to report the hit.

a lot of variations that have been made to the

4. 1. MilSim
Also called military simulation, this popular game
combines airsoft elements and live military
action. There are goals and missions assigned
to the individual teams. These lay the foundation
for confrontation in maintaining the perimeter
security and firefighting with airsoft guns.
MilSim games follow the rule of players adorning
uniforms or military clothing to get a better
experience of the game. It also emphasizes on
detailed replicas of gun. The main theme of the
game lies in simulating military operations.
5. 2. CTF (Capture the Flag)
CTF is a popular game in paintball and airsoft.
As the name suggests, the game is structured in
a way such that each of the competing teams
tries to find and capture the opponent team’s
flag. The flag will have to be clearly visible
during the course of the game and can be
carried by any of the player in both teams.

Live Flag: In live flag, the flag will be dropped in
case of the flag carrier being shot. In such a
scenario, another player can pick up the flag and
continue the game.
Dead Flag: In dead flag, the flag carrier is
expected to return the flag to the opponents
base. The attacked player is eliminated and the
game resumes.
In some variations of this game, the eliminated
player can re enter the play if the flag has not
been captured from their team.
7. 3. King of the Hill
The theme of this game is to siege. One team
would be designated as the King of the Hill.
These players are positioned behind a bunker
called as hill with their airsoft guns and barricade
themselves. The opponent team in this case
would play the role of attackers. On top of the
hill, would be a flag. The attacking team tries to
take control of the hill by eliminating the king
team. Whoever is closest to the flag at the time
out will be declared the winner of the game.
8. 4. Seek and Destroy
In this airsoft game, one team would be hiding or
positioning themselves far away from their
opposing team. After a designated interval, this
attacking team would begin the hunt for players.
The player on discovery would be shot by the
seeking team. The hiding team would have to
run around as much as possible to save
themselves. The team with most number of
players in the end wins.
9. 5. Commando Raid
In commando Raid, the two teams would have
designated base areas. Between the two teams
is a flag that needs to be collected and fixed on
the enemy base. When the players have
taken the flag from their objective they are
expected to leave the flag at a drop zone.
The competition would be in seizing the flag
first and attacking or defending the base.
10. 6. Hostage Rescue
The theme of hostage rescue is to attack and
defend. The two teams would be guards and the
other team would have the hostages and
rescuers. One of the two teams will find a base
and defend the same by holding it as an
unarmed hostage. The opponent team would be
attacking the base, retrieving the hostage
followed by exiting the base successfully. The
two teams would be guards and the other team
would have the hostages and rescuers.
11. Hostage Rescue continued..
The players who are held as hostages typically
reside in different locations.
The rescuers are allowed to carry extra weapons
to save their hostages.
The hostages are permitted to flee, but this
would result in their elimination.
12. 7. Free-for-all
Differing from the other airsoft games which
usually split the players into teams with different
missions, free-for-all airsoft game is played
without any teams. All players are termed as
individual combatants here who are competing
against the other players. The game
commences with each one trying to shoot and
eliminate anyone. The last person who survives
till the end would be declared as the winner.
