3. What is blending?
Blended Learning is an
approach to learning and
teaching which combines and
aligns learning undertaken in
face-to-face sessions with
learning opportunities created
online.
4. So in other words your
flipping your classroom…
5. That’s Great Beckie but how does that
apply to me? I teach…
If you take some the teaching out of the
classroom it makes more room for learning.
And you already have a lot of it. Its changing
the way we structure our lessons. Direct
them to Moodle for the teaching where you
can put the Youtube clips, concepts etc and
then have the big discussions in the
classroom.
6. It’s not for every
class and actually
over used can spoil
the effect.
Here is a link to a
great resource
which shows how
blended and
traditional methods
work together.
7. You only have to start
with the basics
Find/make a video
of a practical or a
topic
Upload to Moodle &
get learners to
watch it outside the
classroom & make
notes of
questions/comments
etc.
Next lesson discuss
the video and get
the learners to use
what they have
learnt to create
something or do the
practical themselves
8. I could have flipped
this session.
Filmed/screen-
recorded this
presentation with
voiceover and added
films, further reading
etc.
Upload to Moodle & got
you to watch it before
the session & you could
have made notes of
questions/comments
etc.
In this session we could
have discussed what
you had seen, read etc
and then discussed as a
group how this effects
SC & then individually
thought about your
sessions.
