The document provides information about collage art including:
- Collage is an art technique where artwork is made from assembling different materials and creating a new whole.
- The term collage comes from the French word "coller" meaning "to glue." Collage became a distinctive part of modern art in the early 20th century.

2. Collage (From the French: coller, to glue) is a
technique of art production, primarily used in
the visual arts, where the artwork is made
from an assemblage of different forms, thus
creating a new whole.
3. The term collage derives
from the French "coller"
meaning "glue".[1] This
term was coined by both
Georges Braque and
Pablo Picasso in the
beginning of the 20th
century when collage
became a distinctive part
of modern art.
4. A collage may sometimes include newspaper
clippings, ribbons, bits of colored or
handmade papers, portions of other artwork
or texts, photographs and other found
objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas.
The origins of collage can be traced back
hundreds of years, but this technique made a
dramatic reappearance in the early 20th
century as an art form of novelty.

approaching the
main collage part of
this differently, but
what I like about
this example is how
they incorporated
other fibers.

25. 1st we will find an image or images to inspire our work
and save it.
2nd we will create a gmail account for each of you. In
the gmail account you will import your saved image,
and then use their photo editing program. We will
experiment with different ways to edit the image’s
value so you can think about this when you collage it.
3rd we will print the images and then we will begin the
drawing process to map out the collage IF that’s the
way you want to approach it… It will depend on what
method of collage and end-product you are going for.
We can discuss your approach after you brainstorm.
26. Do you want to find one image and recreate it using text
and collage techniques?
Do you want to find more than one image and recreate
them into one composition using text and collage
techniques?
Search for images you want to recreate and then narrow
down how you want your composition layed out. We are
editing the image to help you see the value contrast for
your collage techniques. You will not have to recreate
them exactly like that, but it will be a tool to help you. You
can either grid your image and recreate it that way, or just
totally free for all it… Talk to me
