3. The Titanic was
planning to travel
from Southampton to
New York. It was its
maiden voyage.

4. Everyone thought that the Titanic was
unsinkable, however, it hit an iceberg and
sank on a late night on April 14th, 1912. It
ended up in the Atlantic ocean on April
15th.

5. We think that there were about 2,222
people on board and 1,517 killed. 715 0f
them survived. Ladies and children went
first into the lifeboats and there were
lifejackets stored in every room.

6. Interesting facts
• The Titanic used 29
large boilers to power
two large main steam
engines.
• The captain of the
Titanic was proud and
went down with his
ship. His name was
Edward John Smith.
• The Titanic was built
between 1909 and
1911.
• It was 882 feet in
length and 175 feet in
height.
• It had a crew of 900
people.
