John Constable was born in East Bergholt, Suffolk to a merchant who dealt with corn, coal, and farming on June 11, 1776. He gave a considerable amount of time and effort towards creating paintings of the nearby scenery, particularly the places that reminded him of his carefree childhood. According to him, these experiences were instrumental in shaping his career as an artist. Despite being the second-born, Constable was seen as the natural heir to his father’s trade since his older brother was mentally challenged. Following a short stint at a boarding school located in Lavenham, he began attending a day school in Dedham. After completing his education, Constable ventured into the corn industry. However, the managerial responsibilities of the mills were eventually handed over to his younger sibling Abram.

It is different from Tate Modern that houses the Modern Arts. The collection also included sculpture the well known piece, the Kiss by Rodin. It also has a substantial collection of drawings,watercoours and modern prints. It also have a very large collection of Turners.

In many ways the Mauritshuis is a smaller and more personal version of the collection at the Rijksmuseum. The paintings are exclusively Dutch, from its root at the beginning of the Netherlandish era. The museum is situation in the traditional centre in the Hague, by the city pond. Recently the museum undertook a modernisation project to create more space for the visitors. During this period the Mauritshuis collection went on a world tour. It visited several places, in particular Italy, the USA and Japan. The exhibitions were well received, particularly after the film the ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’. A visiting 17C century Dutch paintings at these places is a rare occasion. This display is a brief introduction to some of the best known and finest paintings, by the famous painters of Dutch Golden Age. Among them are Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals, Steen etc.
