- Technology can have a powerful impact on learning when we focus on the learning and utilise the capabilities of technology. Critical use of technology Without knowing how technology can be used we limit our opportunities to utilise it when it may be extremely effective for ourselves and for our students Technology is simply a tool – it can be used well or it can be used poorly – just asany tool or strategy (feedback) can be utilised well or poorly.
- Over the past 3-4 years the web has become far easy to publish to and create content that can be shared very easily. Opened up new possibilities for feedback.
- Instruction and feedback – Hattie – feedback comes after ‘instruction’ in the learning cycle – Quality ‘instruction’ critical. New ways to provide that instruction – Flip lessons – lecture as homework – class time as questions and application.
- Khan academy – experts providing instruction to help students understand.
- Monitoring student progress and using feedback from students to adjust instruction to ensure students achieve learning intentions.
