A lesson in sales efficiency.

Meet Jack
 Jack is a new regional sales rep working with
distributors.
 Jack had several meetings today, so he
looked up directions on his laptop as he
rushed out of the office, running behind.
Jack’s Fateful Day
 Because he was in a hurry, Jack
didn’t write down much
information aside from where he
was going for his first
appointment.
 This led to confusion about the
best route.
Coming Up Short
 Jack made it to the first meeting on
time, but it was all down hill from
there.
 Being unfamiliar with the area, he
got lost and ended up being very
late to the next meeting.
Added Stress
 Jack’s day went from bad to worse,
as he crisscrossed from one side of
town to the other, rushing to make
the next appointment.
 He had not planned his morning
appointments on the same side of
town as his afternoon appointments.
Nothing To Show
 With lots of extra miles on his car, and frantic dashes into the
prospect’s office, Jack could tell that the extra stress was
impacting his time with the prospect.
 When Jack returned to the office,
he was pretty upset and not looking
forward to relaying his day to Joan,
the sales manager.
A Wise Manager
 Fortunately for Jack, Joan was
willing to provide some
coaching insight.
 Joan encouraged Jack to plan
his day better and attempt to
cluster his calls.

  • 2. Meet Jack  Jack is a new regional sales rep working with distributors.  Jack had several meetings today, so he looked up directions on his laptop as he rushed out of the office, running behind.
