WELCOME TO OFFSHORE WIND EUROPE 2018
A CENTRAL HUB FOR LEADERS IN EUROPEAN OFFSHORE
WIND FOR OVER A DECADE
The offshore wind industry has been revolutionised over
the last decade, and European Offshore Wind has been
there for it all.
As it stands 16GW of operating offshore wind was installed
in Europe by the end of 2017 and an estimated 230GW will
need to be installed to reach the targets established at the
Paris Agreement.
Now, with low to subsidy-free offshore wind, the topic of
much discussion, building offshore wind projects without
government financial support has gone from a dream to
reality. But it’s not for everyone and is the subject of much
controversy. With zero-subsidy projects - a direct result
of cost reduction in the supply chain and technological
advancements such as larger turbines - risks are elevated
both by the use of prototypical technology, and by efforts
to cut costs throughout the development process and into
the operational phase.
Offshore Wind Europe is taking place at a critical point,
with industry defining events such as the notable
appearance of these zero subsidy bids; the rapid
expansion of offshore wind into new markets such as the
US, Japan and Taiwan, turbine sizes pushing beyond the
12MW threshold and floating wind ramping up towards
commercialisation. There has never been a more interesting
time to come together and discuss how all the above are
going to impact budgets and delivering on plans.
In light of this, Offshore Wind Europe is bringing together
the leading project owners, innovative developers and
ambitious operators under one roof to discuss how this
pipeline will be developed and operated at its full potential,
for companies of all stances.
Europe’s only industry-defining meeting returns for its
10th year in 2018 with more case studies, key notes and
networking opportunities than ever before.
Over 350+ senior executives, from companies such as:
Vattenfall, Innogy, EnBw, MHI Vestas, Eneco and Engie,
will delve into how new global frontiers and cutting-edge
technology will spearhead offshore wind into becoming
the backbone to the future global energy supply. Bringing
together such decision makers together, in this setting, at
this time, will allow business development and information
distribution to take place like no other.
At Offshore Wind Europe, you will learn what this means
for you and your business, no matter what walk of the
offshore wind value chain you belong to. This means you
will take away a comprehensive understanding of how to
position yourself in this rapidly evolving market; insulating
yourself from risk and maximising your revenue stream.

Building a Global Floating Wind
Supply Chain
• What are the similarities and differences
between the fixed-bottom supply chain and
the floating turbine supply chain: Hulls, towers,
turbines, mooring lines, anchors, dynamic
cables?
• What parts of the design, specifications, and
supply chain will be different and unique
to floating turbines and how will they be
developed?
• Discuss the supply of components such as
turbines, foundations, blades, fabricated steel or
concrete and mooring lines that will be required
to supply floating wind farm projects.
• Analyze the skills and labour requirements to
meet the demands of the design and supply
chains
If you are interested to contribute on this session,

Floating Wind - Risk & Finance

  • 2. Ne EnergyUpdatevvEditable do not delete Outlined B U S I N E S S I N T E L L I G E N C E Organised by: WELCOME TO OFFSHORE WIND EUROPE 2018 A CENTRAL HUB FOR LEADERS IN EUROPEAN OFFSHORE WIND FOR OVER A DECADE The offshore wind industry has been revolutionised over the last decade, and European Offshore Wind has been there for it all. As it stands 16GW of operating offshore wind was installed in Europe by the end of 2017 and an estimated 230GW will need to be installed to reach the targets established at the Paris Agreement. Now, with low to subsidy-free offshore wind, the topic of much discussion, building offshore wind projects without government financial support has gone from a dream to reality. But it’s not for everyone and is the subject of much controversy. With zero-subsidy projects - a direct result of cost reduction in the supply chain and technological advancements such as larger turbines - risks are elevated both by the use of prototypical technology, and by efforts to cut costs throughout the development process and into the operational phase. Offshore Wind Europe is taking place at a critical point, with industry defining events such as the notable appearance of these zero subsidy bids; the rapid expansion of offshore wind into new markets such as the US, Japan and Taiwan, turbine sizes pushing beyond the 12MW threshold and floating wind ramping up towards commercialisation. There has never been a more interesting time to come together and discuss how all the above are going to impact budgets and delivering on plans. In light of this, Offshore Wind Europe is bringing together the leading project owners, innovative developers and ambitious operators under one roof to discuss how this pipeline will be developed and operated at its full potential, for companies of all stances. Europe’s only industry-defining meeting returns for its 10th year in 2018 with more case studies, key notes and networking opportunities than ever before. Over 350+ senior executives, from companies such as: Vattenfall, Innogy, EnBw, MHI Vestas, Eneco and Engie, will delve into how new global frontiers and cutting-edge technology will spearhead offshore wind into becoming the backbone to the future global energy supply. Bringing together such decision makers together, in this setting, at this time, will allow business development and information distribution to take place like no other. At Offshore Wind Europe, you will learn what this means for you and your business, no matter what walk of the offshore wind value chain you belong to. This means you will take away a comprehensive understanding of how to position yourself in this rapidly evolving market; insulating yourself from risk and maximising your revenue stream.
