Soft Diet
 Definition:
 It is an adequate diet that is soft in consistency, easy
  to chew, made up of simple easy digestible foods, It
  is appropriate for patients who have few or no teeth or
 ill-fitting dentures.

Indication:
   •acute infections
   •certain gastroinstestinal disorders andat the post-
   operatiave stage.
Soft Diet
 Food Sources:
    very tender minced
    ground
    stewed or creamed beef,
    lamb
    liver
    fish
    cooked vegetables
    Pasta
    soft raw fruits
    soft bread and cereals
    all desserts that are soft and cheeses
Clear Liquid Diet
 Definition:
   a diet containing no solid foods, is often
    prescribed for gastrointestinal illness or before
    or after certain types of surgery involving the
    mouth or gastrointestinal tract.
  Indication:
     indicated for the postoperative patient
     gastrointestinal illness
     laboratory procedures
Clear Liquid Diet
 Food sources:
    Clear water
    Clear sodas
    Plain gelatin
    Honey
    Ice pops without bits of fruit or fruit pulp
    Tea or coffee without milk or cream
Full Liquid Diet
 Definition:
   all foods that are liquid or are liquid at room
    temperature, It provides more calories than the clear
    liquid diet, but is still liquid in the stomach and
    intestinal tract which is essential for patients who
    cannot chew or swallow solid foods.

 Indication:
 • for the postoperative patient
 • gastrointestinal illness
Full Liquid Diet
 Food Sources:
    cook cereals
    Custards
    ice cream or sherbets
    Eggnog
    all strained fruit juices
    creamed vegetable soups
    Yogurt
    seasoning
Low Protein Diet
 Definition:
     is a diet in which people reduce their intake
    of protein.


  Indication:
     people with kidney or liver disease
Low Protein Diet
 Food Sources:
   Meat, fish
   poultry, eggs
   Milk
   Yogurt
   Cheese
   Peanut butter
Low Cholesterol Diet
 Definition:
   diet is designed to reduce fat and cholesterol
    blood levels
Indication:
   •people with hyperlipidemia
   •atherosclerosis
   •gallbladder stone
   •other cardiovascular diseases
Low Cholesterol Diet
 Food Sources:
   Chicken and turkey with skin removed
   rabbit
   wild duck
   squirrel
   Oat cereals
   Unsalted crackers
   Pretzels
   vegetable juices
   Sunflower
   Safflower
