Operation Services
• Operation Services receives a Carolina Recycling Association Recycler Award for its multi-
jurisdictional disaster debris contracts. In 2016, Brunswick County expanded its disaster
debris operations by implementing two, multi-jurisdictional disaster debris contracts.
This allowed any participating municipalities to activate the contract on their own and
experience county-wide costs savings. Following Hurricane Florence in 2018, the total
quantities of debris managed and/or recycled under these contracts were 708,119 cubic
yards of vegetative and 3,843.02 tons of construction and demolition debris. The total
amount of reimbursement from FEMA was over $11,700,000.

County and North Carolina. Thanks to all the parents and families for their support
throughout this season and the tournament. Thanks to all the coaches.
• The North Carolina Junior Dixie Boys are the 2021 Junior Dixie Boys World Series Finalist.
They fought hard in some really hot and humid conditions but in the end lost the
Championship Game to Mississippi. Keep working hard Gentlemen and look forward to
what the future holds for all of you. You represented the State of North Carolina well, on and
off the field. Hope to see everyone back in 2022.
