MI SELF ,teachers survey
1. MI-SELF (An eTwinning project)
Teachers survey
A total of 10 teachers from all 3 schools completed the survey regarding the project. Each teacher had an important role in the project. Apart from the
3 project coordinators, the other teachers also contributed to making the project a success. One key reason for this was because they specialized in
different curriculum subjects. The teachers surveyed taught English, Greek and Spanish. They also taught Art, Physical Education, Home Economics,
Design and Technology, Environmental Education, Computers, Music and Life learning! Once again, the primary reason behind the survey was to see
what the teachers thought of the project, if they’d participate again and if the project could be improved in any way! The information gained as a
result of this survey will help plan future projects! The survey was written in 3 languages, English, Spanish and Greek in order to be user friendly. The
teachers were allowed to answer in any language they wanted but every answer was translated to English in order to write this report!
2. What grades, if any, did you use for this project? Cual es tu curso? Ποιές τάξεις ήταν
αναμεμιγμένες σ 'αυτό το project;
3. What country do you live in? Cual es tu país?Σε ποια χώρα μένεις:
4. What activities were you or your students involved in? (Check all the answers that apply) ¿En
qué actividades has participado?Σε ποιες δραστηριότητες συμμετέσχες εσύ ή οι μαθητές σου;
The activities the teachers participated in were exactly the same as those listed in both the
student survey report and the parent survey report. Therefore, they will not be listed again for
this report. What will be listed are the additional comments that teachers submitted. These
answers are:
1. Scratch.
2. We promoted the project on national television with students from both schools in Cyprus!
We also wrote articles that were in newspapers and the Ministry of Education’s newsletter!
3. The Scratch is very interesting and a modern technology.
At the time the questionnaire was developed, the project had yet to be mentioned in newspapers
or the Ministry of Education’s newsletter. Similarly the project had not been promoted on
national television. Developing the project using scratch was both interesting and different. The
Scratch expert in Spain (a class 4 student) not only taught Scratch to other students but also to
other teachers. The skills that were developed by fellow students led to interesting creations that
are an invaluable part of the project. A big thank you needs to go out to Daniel Juez from Spain
who is the Scratch expert but who also shared his gift with fellow classmates and other teachers!
5. What was your or your students' favourite activity? ¿ Cual fue tu actividad favorita?Ποια
ήταν η δική σου αγαπημένη δραστηριότητα ή των μαθητών σου;
It’s important to remember when looking at the answers below that they come from 10 different
teachers, from 3 different schools that were involved in different project activities. Most of the
teachers that took this survey were involved in only 1-2 or of the project activities.
Without further hesitation, the results are….
6. It must be said that one teacher couldn’t decide what their students’ favourite activity was and therefore
answered “all activities”. As can be seen from the table, a wide variety of answers were given. Below are the
results from all 3 surveys. It would be fair to say that the treasure hunt was liked by both students and
teachers as it ranked highly in all 3 surveys. The same can be said for the travelling through Europe P.E
lesson and the Kahoot game!

7. This question was definitely more important than the previous one as it would provide us with information for planning
future projects. Here is what the teachers said:
Why did you or your students like your favourite activity? ¿ Por qué te gustó dicha actividad?Γιατί
άρεσε τόσο πολύ σε σένα ή στους μαθητές σου;
It was interesting/exciting for them 5
We had group work 2
It was original 2
Because it was interactive 2
Actively involved in the activity 1
Discussed different ideas 1
Played with words and colours 1
It was something that my students had not done before 1
They learnt how to make the most of recyclable materials 1
They became more responsible 1
They were taught how to protect the environment 1
They had to coordinate the Spanish team using Google maps,
WhatsApp and more
1
They learnt in a non traditional way 1
The activities were very creative 1
They were difficult to carry out and needed a lot of preparation 1
As can be seen, the most popular
response was that the activities were
interesting, exciting for the students. It
also seems that original activities that
are interactive and require group work
are also preferred amongst students. It
also needs to be said that students
learnt to take care of the environment
and interacted with new technologies
such as Google maps and WhatsApp.
Learning in a non traditional way is
also important!

No Όχι 0
Would you participate in an eTwinning project again? ¿ Te gustaría
participar en otro proyecto eTwinning?Θα συμμετέσχες ξανά σε
project eTwinning;
What is pleasing about the answer above is that
no teacher felt like they could not handle being
in another eTwinning project and would
participate in future projects. This is very
important when planning a new project because
collaborating with fellow teachers involves more
students in the project and in more project
activities.
9. How much did you enjoy helping on this project? 1 is the lowest mark, 10 is the highest mark Puntúa
Once again teachers answered positively to the
above question with only 1 teacher answering
with an 8 and all the rest answering with a 10.
This shows that teachers are willing to
participate in future projects. It also shows that
teachers generally enjoyed helping with the
project activities and were not tired or
frustrated by them.
10. Do you have any suggestions on how the project could be improved?Tiene alguna sugerencia o
como se podría mejorar el proyectoΈχεις εισηγήσεις για τη βελτίωση του project;
This question was probably the most important as it would provide feedback regarding
future projects! Here is what the teachers said:
With the same project coordinator (Nick) no improvements need to be made!!!
The involvement of more colleagues to overseas meetings. Teachers from both
countries need to meet and exchange their ideas and experiences.
No
Only congratulations and thanks to Camilo for inviting me to participate
No
I honestly think it's an awesome project¡¡
It would be fair to say that having good project coordinators is important in order to have a
great project. It was pleasing to see that the teachers felt that the project was an excellent
one and could therefore offer no suggestion regarding its improvement. Another teacher
also suggested travel between partners. This would definitely benefit the teachers involved
in the project!
11. Write any other comments you have about our eTwinning project. You may talk about using the
eTwinning platform, interacting with other students or anything else about the activities that had to do
with our project!
Once again teachers could write anything they wanted which was not asked in the previous questions. 5 of
the 10 teachers who completed the survey chose to write additional comments. Here is what they said:
1. The students became more respectful towards other cultures and other people. They saw students
from other countries like their brothers. They competed against other students but with respect
2. It's important to have a good project coordinator guiding us and explaining the project activities to
us.
3. We created posters with pictures and the students from Spain completed them, using
words/messages against bullying.
4. It was a wonderful project that taught the students many things. They collaborated with students
from another school in Cyprus and from another school in Spain. They discovered what the
intelligences meant and had to use their imagination to complete the project activities. The
students were keen to see how students from another country completed the work they had started.
5. It was a good chance for students who are taught in an isolated school to communicate with other
students and especially overseas students!
