1. Solutions to K-TAG Installation Problems
1. Q: K-TAG OBD ECU programming tool appears “communication error” during
installation (shown at picture below), what could be the problem?
A: Please re-check whether the car ECU is well connected with the power.
2. Q: When installing K-TAG programming tool, got “checksum error”, what’s the
matter?
A: There are three reasons cause checksum error:
1) The computer operation system is not compatible with KTAG, better use Windows

2. XP or WIN7 professional system;
2) There maybe something wrong with K-TAG software;
3) K-TAG can't work with these types of ECU now. If necessary, please ask our
customer service for remote assistance.
3. Q: Does KTAG ECU programmer have limit number of times, only 32 and then
throw it away?
A: No, it has no limit you can always use it. But if you keep on giving ECU to write
map file, then it has about 500 times limit. If your K-TAG has limit counter and the
K-TAG board is no gluing, please contact us so that we can send you chip for
replacement, but there are two conditions to change chip below:
1) It is our K-TAG not from other sellers;
2) You are required to know how to change the chip otherwise the KTAG will be
damaged.
