The webinar discussed the impact of social media on careers. It began with presenters introducing themselves and noting how to ask questions. A survey found the biggest career challenges were technology/social media and networking. The webinar covered assessing one's social media skills and presented a new job search model emphasizing competence, experience, credentials, and differentiated value, authentic story, and brand community. Live webinars and courses were promoted to further skills in areas like branding and social media strategy. Participants were encouraged to continue the conversation on LinkedIn.

24. Differentiated Value: Jacquie
I believe that words are powerful. Over many
years as a professional writer and editor, I have
helped diverse organizations craft words into
effective messages. My gift is to see through
to the message that may be veiled from the
reader, and create the bridge from good to
great writing.

25. Differentiated Value: Christian
I’m a sales and marketing strategist who
wholly subscribes to Peter Drucker’s definition
of the purpose of a business: to create and
keep a customer. I have a talent for doing both,
and I enjoy the challenge.

26. Differentiated Value: Jason
I have a calling to reinvent Human Resources.
I do this by being an HR leader who connects
HR to business and teaches others how to do
the same.

27. Authentic Story: Christian
Business development, marketing, and sales – my
areas of expertise – boil down to how an outsider
succeeds in becoming an insider.
I began learning about this as a child growing up in
Southern Arizona. I was raised in an age-restricted
community. There were no kids in my neighborhood,
but I learned to improvise. Before long, I was regularly
having happy hour with my neighbors, who served me
Tang in a brandy snifter. That was my first community
relations gig.

28. Authentic Story: Jason
“Why can’t it be done?” Answering this question
has shaped my life and career. …
In high school, an interest in Christian rock music
spurred an effort to bring a concert to our town and
led to an event attended by hundreds.
In college, I shared a vision for a fraternity that held
itself to a higher standard. We founded that
fraternity and ultimately received national
recognition for our efforts.
Today, I focus on the reinvention of people and
companies.

29. Brand Community: Christian
“Christian has the innate ability to connect with people
in a way that makes you feel like you're his only client.
He routinely responded promptly to my calls and I
could tell that client satisfaction was a top priority to
him.
Christian also spent time with me beyond typical client
obligations, helping me develop marketing tools and
defining a marketing approach. I recommend him as
one to do business with.”

Jason is also an energizing and sought after speaker
on the topics of talent management, generation next,
and social networking. Jason has my top
