I was taught to avoid risks at all costs.
And apparently, so were a lot of women.

Why are we surprised by this?




1) Women own less than 30 percent of all businesses and
  only 16 percent of the businesses with paid employees.

Why are we surprised by this?




2) Women-owned firms generate just 4 percent of total revenues,
   6 percent of employment, and 4.5 percent of payroll.

3) “Women owned firms that have at least one employee generated
   an average of $87,585 in sales in 2002, as compared to
   $1,862,159 for similar businesses owned by men.”

I was dragged, kicking and screaming into entrepreneurship.
So what is a (Non)trepreneur anyway?

    Nope, it’s not that guy who says you can make
      $10,000 a week working in your jammies.
(Non)trepreneur




non·tre·pre·neur [nahn-truh-pruh-nur]:
n. Someone (in this case, a woman) who
becomes an entrepreneur despite the fact
that they do not consider themselves to be
a risk-taker.
There’s a reason she doesn’t go “balls to the wall.”




             She doesn’t have them.
It is the fear of risk that makes
the risks that we do take more calculated.
Advice for the (Non)trepreneur.
Take risks, even if it’s not in your DNA.
Be obsessed with learning.
Trust your gut, and make decisions.
Know what matters to you.
Regret. Nothing.
Build a team that complements you.

You can call yourself an entrepreneur.
Even when you feel like a nontrepreneur.
