Culture can be defined as all the ways of life
including arts, beliefs and institutions of a
population that are passed down from
generation to generation. Culture has been
called "the way of life for an entire society." As
such, it includes codes of manners, dress,
language, religion, rituals, art.
For instance, the way of greeting a senior in
one culture may feel very respectful while the
same in the other culture may feel very rude.
So, while working with people from different parts
of the world, it is important to be aware of the
communication norms of various cultures.

4. What creates a culture?
The major elements of culture are symbols,
language, norms, values, and artifacts.
Language makes effective social interaction
possible and influences how people conceive of
concepts and objects. Major values that
distinguish the United States include
individualism, competition, and a commitment to
the work ethic.

culture?
According to Schein, there are 4 categories of
culture : Macrocultures (nations, occupations that
exists globally), Organizational Cultures,
subcultures (groups within organizations, and
microcultures (microsystems with or within
organizations)
6. Western cultural perspective?
Western culture is an incredibly broad term
used to describe the social norms, belief
systems, traditions, customs, values, and so
forth that have their origin in Europe or are
based on European culture. America, for
example, is firmly Western in culture.
Modern values like humanism, egalitarianism,
secularism have entered Indian value systems.
Our criminal law has been reformed. Evil customs
like sati ended, Untouchability was abolished. The
concept of the welfare state was introduced and
thus Governmental activities on welfare measures
have expanded.
