Outdoor Education
Henderson International School
Fall 2013-14

the outdoors transfer back to everyday life.
Students who participate in outdoor education programs
deal directly with concepts such as:
•Leadership and Followership
•Inclusiveness
•The value of working toward a common goal
•Recognition of the unique attributes of each individual
Benefits of Outdoor Education
Students who participate in outdoor education learn
•About their own strengths and weaknesses
•How persistence can bring success
•That risk can be dealt with responsibly and thoughtfully
Personal experience in outdoor settings helps students
•Develop a respect for the natural world
•Recognize the value of the natural world
