2. Standard Precautions for CBRF Caregivers
Summary
This course is a face to face course that will be scheduled at your facility or senior community. It is
DHS 83 Standard Precautions training and certification compliant. At the successful completion of
the course and final exam the student's name will be submitted to CCDET for inclusion on the
Wisconsin's State Registry for this Certification.
Cost: $60.00 Instruction fee plus $25.00 State Registry Fee
(Total cost per student is $85.00 paid in advance)
Includes:
• 2 hour training course (plus approximately 30 minutes at the end of the course to complete the
exam)
• includes participant guide
• face to face instruction
• at your facility (or at another nearby CBRF)
• Minimum class size 3 (negotiable)
EACH STUDENT THAT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES THE COURSE AND FINAL EXAM WILL BE
AWARED A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL TRAINING PORTFOLIO.
3. First Aid and Choking for the CBRF
(Red Cross Approved)
Summary
This course is a face to face course that will be scheduled at your facility or Senior community. It is DHS
83 First Aid and Choking (Red Cross) training and certification compliant. At the successful completion of
the course and final exam the student's name will be submitted to CCDET for inclusion on the Wisconsin's
State Registry for this Certification.
Cost: $85.00 Instruction fee plus $25.00 State Registry Fee
(Total cost per student is $110.00 paid in advance)

• 4 hour training course (may run over a little)
• includes Red Cross Book and Handouts & supplies
• face to face instruction
• at your facility (or at another nearby CBRF)

4. Medication Administration Training for the CBRF Caregiver
Summary
This course is a face to face course that will be scheduled at your facility or Senior community. It is DHS 83
Medication Administration training and certification compliant. At the successful completion of the course
and final exam the student's name will be submitted to CCDET for inclusion on the Wisconsin's State
Registry for this Certification.
Cost: $115.00 Instruction fee plus $25.00 State Registry Fee
(Total cost per student is $140.00 paid in advance)
Includes:
• 10 hour training course plus additional time to complete final exam (divided between 2 days)
• includes participant guide
• face to face instruction
• at your facility (or at another nearby CBRF)
• Minimum class size 4 (negotiable)
EACH STUDENT THAT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES THE COURSE AND FINAL EXAM WILL BE
AWARED A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL TRAINING PORTFOLIO.
5. ABOUT CHANDRA
Chandra Bronsted is a Registered Nurse with years of experience in employee and student training. She
has taught the Nursing Assistant program within the Wisconsin Technical College system, Instructed Red
Cross classes as both a volunteer and paid employee as well as having provided new and existing
employee education (both required training and optional in-services) within several health care organizations
in Wisconsin.
Chandra also understands the challanges that senior communities face when attempting to arrange for the
DHS 83 required trainings as she held the position of Clinical Administrator (Director of Nursing) for a WI
senior community CBRF and RCAC for 5+ years and its nurse Clinical Coordinator for the year prior to the
Clinical Administrator role.
Chandra is on the Wisconsin Registry (CCDET) to instruct C.B.R.F. caregivers in the topics of Standard
Precautions, First Aid and Choking (Red Cross CBRF training), and Medication Adminstration. After
successful completion of the courses and exams, students are then eligible to be placed on the WI CBRF
Registry for the course(s).
Future plans are to include affordable online training offerings in topics which do not require state
certification for caregivers allowing for individual personal and professional growth goals. Click on the
