Organized by CCM International Ltd., China Crop Protection Summit (CCPS) 2011 will be held
on March 18th to 19th in 2011 at Ramada Plaza Gateway, Shanghai, China. As an ideal

consists of half a day pre-conference workshops and one and a half days conference. One of
the topics in the conference is based on seed treatment.
China's research and development on seed coatings started later than that of the developed
countries. In 1996, Chinese Ministry of Agriculture proposed the implementation of "seed
projects", which took seed coatings to a rapid development phase. In recent years, seed
coatings in China have got tremendous development. China has successfully developed
series of seed coatings which can apply to different areas and crops. Compound seed
coatings effective for diseases and pests account for about 70% of the total varieties and those
effective as fertilizer and pesticide account for around 40%.
The speech will be given by Qiyun Xu, an agronomist of CCM. Mr. Xu has got Bachelor degree
of Plant Protection, with 7-year research experience in pesticide field. From 2004 to 2007, he
has researched botanical pesticide in South China Agricultural University. From 2007 to 2008,
he researched pesticide and engaged in the field efficacy trials in Guangdong Academy of
Agricultural Sciences. From 2009 to 2010, he engaged in pesticide formulations and market
research in Shenzhen Noposion Agrochemical Co., Ltd. At present, he is a researcher on
agrochemical industry and its related products.
In Mr. Xu’s speech, he will present a brief historical development and status quo of Chinese
seed coating industry. Besides, registration information and test summary of seed coatings
during recent years will be provided with detailed discussion on existing problems. After that,
Mr. Xu will mainly talk about the application of seed coatings to food crops and money crops.
Finally, the future trend of Chinese seed coating industry and business opportunities will be
summarized.
