Telehealth provides access to care and the ability to export clinical expertise to those patients who require care, regardless of the patients' geographic location. This chapter presents telehealth technologies and programs as well as telehealth practice considerations such as licensure and malpractice challenges. As telehealth advances, healthcare providers will require competencies and knowledge to incorporate safe and effective clinical practice using telehealth technologies into their daily workflow.
