Americans have historically favored junk food snacks, but nutritious options like granola bars and juices have become more popular as the health benefits of a balanced diet are recognized. However, existing "healthy" chip options provide little nutritional value, use vegetables like kale and chia as minor ingredients, or have unappealing textures and flavors. SuperEats was created to develop a tasty, crispy chip made with kale and chia as the top two ingredients that could appeal to mainstream snackers while providing fiber, protein, antioxidants, and other nutrients in an affordable product. SuperEats chips are presented as filling a gap in the market for snacks that are both healthy and enjoyable to eat.
