Currently working as Onsite Technical Lead in Oracle Administration with WIPRO Technologies,
Texas providing Oracle database administration support to CITIGROUP having mission critical
business environments both in RAC and non-RAC environments.
Highlighting are few projects that I carried out pertaining to Designing/Solution providing.
• Currently working on CitiScreening Project which is very critical for Citigroup in monetary
terms. Implemented Bi/Unidirectional GoldenGate as part of replication set up.
• Was instrumental in building up of Active-Passive Clusterware database on Linux platform.
Installed ASM and on top of that 11gR2 database. Initiated from start with Meetings and
discussions with Application team on the type of database (Cluster or RAC). Discussions
included the criticality of Application data and its size. Depending on that advised them to
go with Cluster which was beneficial in terms of cost incurred.
• Improved performance of a database by closely working with Application team by having
daily meetings to discuss the status of the workarounds implemented and parameters that
was changed. These changes included, aligning jobs to different time zones, implementing
SQL profile for SQLs that were performing badly, creating indexes on columns that were
vastly used and had Full Table Scans and few other things.
• Implemented Oracle’s Advanced Security Options (ASO) for an Application holding
Citigroup’s (critical) LEGAL data. Prepared POC regarding the steps involved and the work
that would be required from System Administrator and Application team.
• Provided design steps and solutions on Solaris to AIX migration along with database
upgrade from 9i to 10g. Prepared POC for the same.

RESPONSIBILITES IN WIPRO TECHNOLOGIES Feb 2007 - Till Date
Started at Wipro Technologies (then it was Citi Technology Services) as Database Administrator
in a team of 10 managing more than 700 databases (PROD/UAT/DEV/COB).

As part of Corporate Database Management (CDM) team, carried out few successful projects.
PROJECT 1 – Oracle 11g RAC Database Creation
• As part of Build Team, created RAC databases using private IPs, public IPs and scan IPs.
These RAC databases were part of critical Compliance Applications like AML-NS Monitoring,
Global Interdict (Latam), STE Docs and ICG Docs and CitiScreening.
• Created Standby (COB) database for STE and ICG Docs Prod databases on RAC.
• Troubleshooting performance issues on RAC using AWR report
• Resolve issues encountered during weekend reboot or after SA tasks.
PROJECT 2 – Oracle 11g Golden Gate Implementation
• Leading CitiScreening Application on a GLOBAL level. This application is based across NAM,
Poland, EMEA, ASIA Pacific, Mexico, China and many more are in pipeline.
• As part of Build Team, implemented GoldenGate on RAC databases that were part of critical
Compliance Applications like AML-NS Monitoring, Global Interdict (Latam) and CitiScreening.
• GoldenGate setup was bi-directional replication. They wanted this set up because of critical
data flowing across both data centers.
• Plan GoldenGate setup to achieve Bi/Unidirectional replication.
• SAN storage, GoldenGate software version, type of data/tables that will be moved are some
basics that needs to be discussed before going ahead with implementation.
• Setup GoldenGate Database User with necessary privileges
• Installed GoldenGate on testing environments to perform POC.
• Prepare GoldenGate parameter files for Extraction and Replication
• Implementing monitoring scripts for GoldenGate processes and lag.
• Investigate Replication failures using LogDump utility
• Test initial Data Load option of GoldenGate during environment build
• Identify risks involved with replicating highly volatile tables with large data volume
PROJECT 3 – Resolving Quick Screen Performance Issue

• Resolving Performance issue for Quick Screen Application where the columns in SQL
statement were not indexed properly.
• Many SQLs were tuned and restructured.
• Scheduled jobs in different time zones to avoid heavy load on server.
PROJECT 4 – Solaris to AIX Migration
• Part of a 2 member team that carried out Solaris to AIX migration for Citigroup Employee
Portal application. Citigroup Employee Portal is a very complex application in CITI involving
coordination between 36 teams. So we used to have weekly 2 calls to see that all teams are
on the same page
• Database was upgraded from Oracle 9i to 10g.
• This also involved installation of Orasecure and DBvault.
• There were few performance issues after migration which was resolved using new 10g
features.

PROJECT 5 – Solaris to AIX Migration
• Almost single handedly carried out Solaris to AIX migration of Esourcing Intranet database
taking into consideration space issues.
• Involved installation of Orasecure and DBvault.
• This was carried out without any performance issues.
PROJECT 6 – Oracle 11g Cluster Database Creation
• Carried out 11g cluster database creation on Linux server using VIP.
• Created Standby database too for the same.
