What is an E.M.C.
A facility designed for the housing
and utilization of all educational
media within the school.
It is more than a collection of
instructional materials because it
incorporates a systematic plan or
program in the proper use and
delivery of effective instruction.

and teachers.

 Given to new teachers on and about EMC,
programs, roles in academic organization,
service, facilities, guidelines and
procedures; and hands on training on the
use of different equipment.
 Selection of Print and Non-Print Materials
 Librarians select and acquire print & non-
print materials that suits the needs,
interests and special abilities of students
and teachers
 Organization of Print & Non-Print
Materials
 Technical librarians organize all the
purchased prints and & non-prints for
easy retrieval.
 Circulation of Print & Non- Print Materials
 Leads out various types of materials to
students and teachers; guidelines are
given for efficient, conditioned and
maximized use of resources.
 Reference
 Attends to requests like bibliographic
info's from the card catalog, searching
through book, periodicals, pamphlets,
documents and non- print materials that
is recorded on a logbook.
 Bibliographic Services
 Listings of materials and periodical
articles to publicize the new materials.
 Media Instruction Program
 The M.I.P. aims to teach students to be
skillful and discriminating users of print &
non- print media. Designed to develop
the habit of inquiry and stimulate growth
and development of students.
 Class Supervised Research
 A scheduled programs of activity
particularly in Science and Social
Studies. (Research writing)
 “Mags-on-Wheels”
 Selected professional and general
interests journals that is routed in the
different grade levels and service areas.
 Photocopying Services
 A self- service photocopying machine is
available for the faculty to produce
certain amount of copies of the needed
materials with charge.
 Video & Sound Production
 Simple class productions for instruction, program
and/or school wide presentations are put
together in the A.V. area.
 Multimedia Services
 Different non- print media are acquired.
Teachers are encouraged to maximized the use
of teacher- friendly materials
 Grade Level Newspaper
 A subscription to a new newspaper of their
choice.

basis of service to students and teachers...

Importance
Provides teachers and students easy
access for information search.
Maintains a pool of instructional material
ready for use as need arises.
Serves as a venue for multi-media
learning for more positive results
Provides for individualized instruction,
and independent learning, hence it
promote self confidence
Allows the students and teachers the
opportunity to avail the expertise of the
media technologists and specialists.
Promotes closer linkage between
administrators, teachers and students
because they will work together in the
maintenance of the center.
Teachers and students can update and
improve their capabilities and
performances.
ACTIVITY
 Group I- Compose a song/rap using the
PLM hymn.
 Group II- Create an acronym that will
focus on the importance of E.M.C. using
this letters= A L D U B
 Group III- Draw a logo that will show
your interpretation on E.M.C.
 Group IV- Simulate the uses of different
resources found in an E.M.C.

  • 4. Understanding “ e have said that the best ideas in the world are to be found in a modern library. But the modern educational media center must include excellence in varied media- not merely in printed materials.” - Edgar Dale W
  • 6. What is an E.M.C. A facility designed for the housing and utilization of all educational media within the school. It is more than a collection of instructional materials because it incorporates a systematic plan or program in the proper use and delivery of effective instruction. ?

  • 11. Resources Human Resources  EMC Director- the overall in charge of maintaining and delivering the services offered by the center,  Technician- adept in manipulating, using and who can troubleshoot simple problems that may arise in using the different equipment.
  • 12.  Librarian- in charge of filing or arranging systematically the different instructional media for easier loaning out to students and teachers.  Artist who assists the teachers and students in producing unavailable instructional materials.  Computer instructor

Services ( catered by Atenero de Manila University)  Orientation  Given to new teachers on and about EMC, programs, roles in academic organization, service, facilities, guidelines and procedures; and hands on training on the use of different equipment.  Selection of Print and Non-Print Materials  Librarians select and acquire print & non- print materials that suits the needs, interests and special abilities of students and teachers
  • 17.  Organization of Print & Non-Print Materials  Technical librarians organize all the purchased prints and & non-prints for easy retrieval.  Circulation of Print & Non- Print Materials  Leads out various types of materials to students and teachers; guidelines are given for efficient, conditioned and maximized use of resources.
  • 18.  Reference  Attends to requests like bibliographic info's from the card catalog, searching through book, periodicals, pamphlets, documents and non- print materials that is recorded on a logbook.  Bibliographic Services  Listings of materials and periodical articles to publicize the new materials.
  • 19.  Media Instruction Program  The M.I.P. aims to teach students to be skillful and discriminating users of print & non- print media. Designed to develop the habit of inquiry and stimulate growth and development of students.  Class Supervised Research  A scheduled programs of activity particularly in Science and Social Studies. (Research writing)
  • 20.  “Mags-on-Wheels”  Selected professional and general interests journals that is routed in the different grade levels and service areas.  Photocopying Services  A self- service photocopying machine is available for the faculty to produce certain amount of copies of the needed materials with charge.
  • 21.  Video & Sound Production  Simple class productions for instruction, program and/or school wide presentations are put together in the A.V. area.  Multimedia Services  Different non- print media are acquired. Teachers are encouraged to maximized the use of teacher- friendly materials  Grade Level Newspaper  A subscription to a new newspaper of their choice.  A service that provides up-to-date events locally and internationally.
  • 23. Media Program  In-service training for future teachers and students  Established for the purposes of workshops, conferences etc...  Appropriate evaluation of instruments/ I.M.s and others.  Creation and implementation of educational tools
  • 24. Roles and Functions  Consultant service to improve instruction, learning and use of educational media resources and facilities;  Upgrade instructional standards through the use of educational media resources;  Information on new educational development;
  • 25.  Creation/production of instructional materials to suit the special needs of teacher and student  Upgraded research through media support to individual investigation and exploration;  Multi-media facilities with areas made available to students, teachers and the media staff.  Educational media equipment made available for classroom use to student and teachers.

Mission and Vision (of Atenero de Manila University)  It reflects and supports the philosophy of the school.  It shares and implements the school’s aims and objectives.  It is involved in the teaching and learning process.  It is a *resource center. In it, different forms of communication and their accompanying technology are organized and housed for easy accessibility and use.
  • 27.  It is a *learning laboratory. It provides materials which will enrich and implement the curriculum; it encourages individual exploration and inquiry with the use of provided materials for self- directed learning.  It is a *teaching agency. It teaches student how to find info’s; stimulates new interests; encourages students and teacher to use variety of media and keep them informed about new materials.
  • 28.  It is a *service agency. In it, all procedures are established as the basis of service to students and teachers...  A *coordinating agency─ It serves as a central depository for various forms of media...  A *center for recreational reading, viewing and learning...  A *stepping stone to other community resource center...
  • 29. Importance Provides teachers and students easy access for information search. Maintains a pool of instructional material ready for use as need arises. Serves as a venue for multi-media learning for more positive results Provides for individualized instruction, and independent learning, hence it promote self confidence
  • 30. Allows the students and teachers the opportunity to avail the expertise of the media technologists and specialists. Promotes closer linkage between administrators, teachers and students because they will work together in the maintenance of the center. Teachers and students can update and improve their capabilities and performances.
  • 31. ACTIVITY  Group I- Compose a song/rap using the PLM hymn.  Group II- Create an acronym that will focus on the importance of E.M.C. using this letters= A L D U B  Group III- Draw a logo that will show your interpretation on E.M.C.  Group IV- Simulate the uses of different resources found in an E.M.C.
