3. The most awaited day for
London , titled ‘Isles of
Wonder', marked its beginning
on 27th July 2012 at 9 p.m.
The opening ceremony at the
grounds of London Games saw
some of the finest athletes
from more than 200 nations
walk through the aisle. With the
start of the event, London
marked the history for the third
time for hosting the world’s
biggest and most significant
sporting event.
4. The ceremony was ‘for everyone’ and commemorated some of the
contributions the UK has made to the world through technology and
innovation. It also showcased sport, inspiration, youth and urban
transformation as the key themes and priorities of London Olympics.
The finale of the event was followed by igniting the Olympic Cauldron,
formed by 205 copper petals representing the competing nations get-
together at the London Games. Seven young torchbearers nominated by
Britain’s past and present Olympic greats were honored for the event

Included the Queen’s visit at the stadium
with Jacques Rogge
The Olympic Rings projected on
the House
6. And the Olympic stadium in London, which was the center
focus venue for all the 2012 London Olympic and
Paralympics' Games, the final stop in the Olympics torch
relay and the venue of the athletic events as well as the
opening and closing ceremony.
