8. 1. Sender/Receiver
Sender is the participant who
Initiates the communication
process and establishes the
purpose of the message
Receiver is the one for whom
the message is intended and
sent.
9. 2. Message – contains the information, the thought, and feelings
that a communicator expresses to the other participant in the
communication process
10. 3. Channel / Medium – identifies how the message is delivered
11. 4. Feedback – the receiver’s response to the sent message.
12. 5. Context – refers to the circumstances – situations, condition,
environment can include room temperature, lighting, furniture,
timing as well as the climate and relationships that exists
between the communicators
13. 6. Noise – defined as an impediment to successful communication.
It is anything that hinders shared understanding .
External noise – originates from the communicators’ surroundings or
environment
Internal noise – includes anything that is self-related that may hamper
effective sending and receiving of messages
Semantic noise – gets in way when the sender and receiver do not share
the same meanings for their verbal and non-verbal signs
14. Directions: Form a group of five to eight members. Play the game,
“Telephone”. Start by lining up or sitting in a circle. Assign one
member to think of a phrase or a sentence and let him or her
whisper it in the next person’s ear. The next person then whispers
the phrase or sentence he or she heard to the next person, and so on
until it reaches the last member of the group.
