The Roman Empire is probably the best-known example of strong leadership and the highest sense of organisation and authority. Under the Romans, art became the greatest celebration of the power of Emperors, their culture, and their values: through magnificent monuments and legendary events, the ancient Romans conquered pages of history books that were to lead and inspire many generations ahead. Ambition, power, loyalty, success, and happiness were all part of the situational and organisational challenges that the imperial Rome was facing. Stability was also crucial: riots, rebellions and insurrections were rampant in such a vast territory. So guaranteeing law, order, and security within the empire needed astute leadership. There are a lot of good takeaways that ancient Romans can teach us which could be applied in modern business and, most of all, in big organisations like Joomla. So, let me be your tourist guide in the Eternal City while comfortably sitting on your chair! In this virtual tour around the Capital, I will introduce few important concepts that ancient Romans mastered during their long Empire: The role of leadership: how much are they for the community as a whole and part of the community itself.
