2. INTRODUCTION
My magazine is called _____ and focuses on the love of R&B music, the new
and the old. The artists would be a conglomerate of well-known famous artists
who are an necessity to everyone's playlist.
In the month in which my first issue would be made, such bands as Usher, Nelly,
Ciara, TLC would be featured as they are ‘legends’ to the music industry.
3. GENRE
The genre of my magazine is going to be R&B, focusing on the recent up to
date charts, and the old skool artists which everyone still loves. Your other
magazines such as RollingStone have lead you to the fame you have now, but
I know that a magazine like mine would set you to being the best selling
publisher, global. My genre is different to others as it dares to go where others
don’t, no one in the music magazine industry has yet published a magazine
only focusing on R&B.
4. TARGET AUDIENCE
My target audience will be males and females aged 16-24. I have chosen this
target audience as I believe they are the most influential so it will be beneficial
to the magazine. It will appeal to males because it will include male artists and
concert information, and it will appeal to females because it will include
female artists which they look up to, as they want to look like them.
5. MODE OF ADDRESS/HOUSE STYLE
The house style of my magazine is going to be classy, sophisticated and
modern. I am going to use plain and simple fonts with a few serif to convey
this. It will be organised and clean, I don’t want to cram pages with text as it
isn’t nice to the eye, it is overwhelming.
6. CONTENT OF FIRST ISSUE
The content of my first issue is going to be kind of an introduction to what this
magazine will be bringing. It will include two main stories of major famous
artists in the R&B industry, these will be the focus of the front cover too. It will
include all of the hot gossip of the celebrities and their recent stories. Also
featured in the magazine will be a top 10 of the month R&B songs, this will be
chosen by the editors. Extras like competitions and quizzes will be dotted in the
magazine for entertainment. Reviews from tours and concerts will be featured
as this is what I found was most popular in my research.
7. MAIN STORY
The main story is going to be about a new girl band, they are going to be
talking about how their lives have changed from being famous. They will talk
about how it was hard to get into the R&B industry as it is so big. The girls will
answer frequent questions asked by fans.
8. ADVERTISEMENTS
In my magazine I would advertise the latest fashion items, concentrating on
getting celebrity styles. Also I would advertise both male and female
perfumes, recent and popular. I would advertise the latest albums and singles
that have been released.
9. WHY MY MAGAZINE?
I think you should choose my magazine as it would be a bigger hit than any
other music magazine out there. It is so different and unique it would stand out
on any magazine rack. It is a must have to any music lover. It appeals to such
a wide market as R&B is such a popular music genre and there is yet to be a
magazine which covers this on the market. There is room for my magazine,
and it will make it.
