Additional Information
Through my early career years as an actor, I am a confident public speaker and
able to engage with a variety of individuals and groups in both a formal and
informal environment. With such confidence, I believe I am suitable for this post in
with focus on increasing membership within the hockey family and engaging with
clubs, coaches and officials alike.
Through my extensive football coaching, I have experience in planning and
delivering sports events and coaching sessions. With my A.F.C Graig u14s I am
responsible for the development and the maintaining of interest within the sport,
with both encouragement and enjoyment the priority that sustains my player’s
involvement. In tandem with these responsibilities, my duties include
3. correspondence with league officials and coaches and adopting strong
relationships with clubs within the community and organizations (Sponsors and
schools) to promote the sport.
One of my biggest achievements, however, lies outside the sporting environment.
Even though this is not a sporting example it highlights my passion and attention to
detail. As a part time chef, there are a plethora of rules I have to abide by as I am
under strict regulations from company policy and procedure. In August 2013, I
achieved a 5 star grading from Environmental Health for the excellent conditions of
the kitchen at the Upper boat Inn. What makes this also significant is that, the
Upper Boat Inn is the only 5 star carvery in the whole of Wales. To get such a
grading requires that kitchen has high cleanliness standards, correct food handling
procedures (to NSF standard) and high understanding and knowledge of cooking
procedures and equipment use.
The reason that this is one of my biggest achievements is that this is not my
chosen career. However, regardless of any job I occupy, I put 100% in achieving
the desired goals I believe I am capable of accomplishing. Finally, this also
highlights that I strive for quality and top results and attain to achieving those
results in any environment that I find myself a part of.
During the First year of my PGCE (2013-2014), I was able to develop a partnership
between two independent departments within Bridgend college on the Pencoed
campus. This partnership was between the sports and equestrian faculties. The
aim was to promote physical activity within the equine students and promote
coaching skills within the sports students. This project allowed the sports students
to actively coach the equine students with a range of activities and sports. This was
a major success, with both sets of students from each department attending and
promoting the project. From this, I gained experience of how to conduct and
organize a program of six week’s worth of sessions, supervising students and
promoting the need for participation in physical activity. With this I was able to
develop and promote effect time management and organization skills. Finally, as a
facilitator of this project, if students were struggling within a session with a specific
activity, I have the ability to apply my creative and approachable nature to
overcome obstacles and achieve the desired results.
