 The owner of Federal Immigration Counselors, AZ, Phoenix’s Christopher
Stender has secured victories in a number of high-profile cases as an
immigration attorney. Christopher Stender also supports the charitable efforts
of the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Florence Project offers free legal services to
individuals in immigration custody in the state of Arizona. In addition to
representing adults and families, it is the only Arizona organization that offers
free representation and assistance to detained unaccompanied children in
deportation proceedings.
The Florence Project’s specific children’s program services include direct
representation in immigration court, referrals to appropriate local pro bono
attorneys, education through age-appropriate legal guidance, and beneficial
role playing sessions to prepare children for immigration court. The Florence
Project has proven effective in helping immigrant children find asylum in the
United States and acquire special immigrant juvenile visas or specialized “U” or
“T” visas to protect human trafficking victims.
