3. Photoshop
Whilst creating this product I have thoroughly
improved my Photoshop skills. At the beginning
of this product I had no idea what so ever with
regards to using Photoshop however whilst
developing this product, I have created a main
title, production company logo, actors names
titles and also numerous screenshots which
have been used for this opening sequence. So I
can gather that my Photoshop skills have
improved whilst producing this product.
4. Photoshop and Fireworks
The main title which I had created did not look too great on
Photoshop so I learnt even more skills when I used a different
programme to produce my main title. The specific skills which
I have learnt are adding a glowing and shadow effect to text
and also I had to edit the colours of the text by using an
advanced method of picking a colour. The software which I
had to use to create and develop my main title was called
'Fireworks'. Before I created my main title I had never used
this software and had very little skills on it. However, the more
time I spent on it the more my skills developed. By the end of
the development of my main title I had developed great skills
on Fireworks and was able to create a main title which
managed to maintain a football theme.
5. Serif Movie Plus
I fully edited and created my product using Serif Movie Plus. I did not
have a very good understanding of this software to begin with.
However, this all changed when producing my product because I now
have a solid understanding of how to use this software and I am able
to use it fluently. In Serif, I have learnt how to make a video clip fade in
then out. This allows my media product to flow more coherently and
helps to add more suspense when the main character becomes injured
at the end of the opening sequence. I have learnt how to add text over
a video clip and I have also learned how to slow down the playing
speed of a video clip in order to create a slow motion effect. Another
technique which I have learnt is how to add an affect onto a text clip to
make my main title fly in. This effect added more suspense to my
product and this visual effect engages my audience with the product
more because it adds a more energetic feeling to the media product.
6. Editing
I have also been able to improve my editing skills
whilst creating this opening sequence as I have
used a variety of techniques to cut scenes and I was
also able to create my own YouTube framing and
place a clip inside the framing. I have also created a
piece of framing which allows me to make a scene
appear as if it is a homemade footage. For example,
when the young version of the main character is
dribbling with the ball I have added framing which
looks like it is recording on a camera. This creates a
more realistic effect for my opening sequence.
