Note: We add –s to the third person singular (he, she, it)
USE: We use the Present simple tense to talk about habits and
routines. Example: I go to the gym twice a week
3. 1. As a general rule, we add –s to the end of
the verbs in the third person singular.
Examples: eat →eats; sit→sits;
talk→talks
2. If the verb ends in –s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -z,
-o →we add –es
Examples: miss →misses; push
→pushes; watch →watches; fix →fixes;
do → does; go → goes; buzz → buzzes.
4. 3. If the verbs end in consonante + -y →
change –y to –i and add –es.
Examples: study → studies; fly →flies
4. If the verbs end in vocal + y →we only add
–s (do not change the –y)
Examples: play →plays
A few verbs have irregular forms:

-Adverbs of frequency are placed between the subject and the main
verb. (verbs ≉ to be) Example: We often go to the cinema.
-However, they are placed after the verb “to be”. Example:
I am always tired.
Other frequency expressions
Every day (week, month…); once/twice/three times a (week, month, year..)
In the morning, in the evening, in the afternoon…at night.
