13. Feedback regarding
MOODLE
Many students are not aware of the content VIVA
currently offers online through MOODLE.
MOODLE (v2.0) has HTML5 capability.
It will be sometime before many of the functional
apps we desire will come to be programmed and
released.
In order to transfer information on course attendance
etc., an intermediary program is likely to be
necessary.
14. Conclusions
1. Developing mobile web resources would be
the most cost-effective solution
2. VIVA’s current web resources will need to be
upgraded
3. Students and staff agree that VIVA should
have mobile web friendly resources and services
that do not add costs to users.
4. The most requested features are currently
managed under RTO Manager and are not
presently publishable on MOODLE.
15. Recommendations
- Conduct a financial review and ear-mark future funds
for implementation of a MOODLE 2.0 mobile web-friendly
online student portal providing all current services and
integrating student records of attendance, study progress
and alerts for upcoming classes, assessments and college
events with the project as a whole to be researched,
commissioned and completed by Dec 2014.
- the College should script, cast and produce a
video/presentation of how to use current online facilities for
all current and future students of VIVA. This is to be
completed by February 2014.

Benefits
• Increasing customer satisfaction (through increased appreciation for the services we presently offer.)
• Offering the College the time to plan for the expense of raising its online resources to match industry best practice standards.
• Rather than rushing ahead, adopting a ‘wait and see’ approach to the success and development of MOODLE 2.0 and HTML 5, provides greater financial risk mitigation.
