3. Looking at my skills audit I was pretty
confident with most of the technological
features listed. However I was unfamiliar with
Apple Macs and that was hard as throughout
the project I had to use an Mac. I didn’t know
how to do simple things such as copying and
pasting which I knew how to do on a normal
PC, but I clearly made a massive Progression
with that as I am confident with using Apple
Macs now.
4. I had never used blogger before so that was
a new experience, however I found it easy to
familiarize with and was able to upload
images and videos for my coursework.
One the that took me a while to know how to
do was how to embed a link on blogger to
have a prezi etc.
5. I found InDesign hard to use to start of with
as I had never used it before however as I
familiarised myself with the features on
offer I saw my Magazine begin to look
better and more professional. I leant how
to use the effects properly and add all the
elements to specify my target audience.
6. Overall I made a massive progression and
developed my abilities an knowledge when
using the different software and
technology. I have used and familiarise my
self with programmes such as
InDesign, the grab tool to make
screenshots and other online websites
such as image editors, Xtranormal and
Prezi which I had never used before.

8. My first task on InDesign was to create a college
magazine front cover which would be suitable for
students. I think my preliminary task was
successful, but not as successful as my Music
magazine front cover as I thought that it didn’t look
very professional as I only used one main font for
the cover lines which isn't very
interesting. Also it looked very flat and the colours
are to young for my target audience.
Other than using Photoshop to edit my image to
black and white, I don’t think I made
use of all the software offered and didn’t
use proper conventions of a magazine.
9. Compared to my college magazine I think my music
magazine looks much more professional clearly
showing the progression from my previous cover, and
that I have improved my knowledge on using
Indesign and my computer abilities such as
photoshop. I used photoshop to make the Masthead
behind the image and to cut the image and bring it
forward. I have also used a wider range of font sizes
and a variety of fonts and simpler colours. I
combined the use of the font too to change the
effects and enhance some of the text to make it stand
out, giving it a more professional appearance. I
experimented with angles and sizing of font to make
certain things stand out over others. Over I think this
cover shows my progression and that I took the
advantage of more of the tool and software available.

11. I attempted to continue my theme used on my
front cover in to my contents so you could see
a clear use of synergy. I done this by using a
black and white background as well as using
the same colours and effects. Looking back at
this I quite like it, however I think I could of
used photoshop to enhance the image and edit
it to make the title to go behind the hat slightly
and to make everything look less flat.
12. For the contents page of my music
magazine, I carried on the theme of the
front cover however made it a bit more
simple and easier to read. I also use more
images which relate to what's inside the
magazine. He overall appearance of the
contents looks more better as it is simple
yet effective. Also it looks modern and
sleek as well as it relates to my target
audience.
