Polk Street Extension/Driveway was established between 1964 and 1970. The aerial photos show that the crossing existed east of its current location in 1964 and is installed by the 1970 photo.
Dave Turner estimates that approximately 2 acres of his land was damaged from the flooding
Note the sediment deposition on the downstream photo and the generator/pump on the upstream photo. The flooded waters were dewatered and resulted in sediment deposition downstream. Review the 10/17/2011 photos for comparison.
Emergency access- road/driveway needs to be built in accordance with current city guidelines to enable proper access for emergency vehicles (and garbage, recycling, delivery and recreational vehicles) Flood damage- in the event the obstruction is not removed by spring flooding the additional stress on the road may cause additional damage to the road structure and surrounding area and infrastructure. If the road is damaged further by additional flooding the associated cost of repair may need to be reassessed as it would then fall under an emergency situation.
