3. Producing biogas
• One time a day, new biomass/silage is putted
into the screw charger from were it is
transported into the fermenter
4. Producing biogas
• The biomass/silage is permanently mixed up
in the fermenter
• Biogas is produced because of the heating
and mixing process of the biomass/silage in
the fermenter
5. Producing biogas
• The “old” biomass/silage is transported into a
second fermenter/ reservoir:
– Biogas is built
– Biomass is saved to be used again by agriculture
fermenter second fermenter/reservoir
6. Using biogas
First biogas must be filtered to methan
By burning down the biogas in a block heating
station heat and electricity is produced
The heat partly is transported in the fermenter
and partly to near buildings
The electricity is putted into the electric circuit
7. The biogasplant in Schmiden
• The biogas of this plant produces …
… heat for the own fermentation process
… heat for two school centres (in Schmiden and
Oeffingen)
... heat for some gyms and two festival halls
… electricity for the electric circuit
• This is possible because of 3 new block
heating stations
