Essay on Self-Analysis
Self–Analysis
Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical
procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not
allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for
simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread.
My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing
because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer.
In my writing, I have many strengths, some that which I have developed through this course and
some that I already had. Before this...show more content...
I can write a thesis that will give an overview about what main topic of the paper is and what other
elements will be addressed in the paper. From taking this course I have been able to improve
many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming
better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the
little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end.
This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it
will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities
to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing, such as paraphrasing, summarizing,
analyzing, and researching; it has enabled me to be able to write more broadly. By knowing how
to correctly use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes
because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these types of papers. I still procrastinate
sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along
because I will become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better
grades.
Overall I think that my most of my writing habits have improved and for the ones that have not I
know what they are and what I need to do to improve them. My strengths that I already had as

Data Encryption Essay
Encryption
Data encryption refers to the transformation of data into a structure that makes it unreadable by
anyone without a secret decryption key. It ensures that messages can be read only by the planned
recipient. Encryption is the procedure of obscuring information to create it unreadable without
special information. Only organizations and individuals with an abnormal need for secrecy have
actually made good use of it. Nowadays, encryption is one of the most important technologies for
maintaining your privacy and the security of important information. This helps out greatly especially
when E–Commerce is being used.
Encryption converts a message in such as way that its contents are hidden from unauthorized readers.

When it arrives to the seller it is then decrypted back into the original plaintext credit card number.
Messages are encrypted by using a cryptographic algorithm and key. This is a precise action for both
encryption and decryption.
A cryptographic key is a word number or phrase that must be known to encrypt or decrypt a
message. A weak encryption is effortlessly able to be decrypted without the algorithm and key.
When someone decrypts when not approved it is then known as breaking or cracking a code. A
strong encryption is one that is very hard to break. Technology is getting better and better, making
some codes that were once known as very hard to break, now breakable and are out dated.
Question 1:
Have you ever heard about how encryption protects your privacy over the internet, like your credit
card number?
Question 2:
Have you ever had trouble with using your credit card over the internet?
Code–breaking computers have a tendency to be very expensive because of how specialized and
highly how advanced they are. But methods of breaking codes can also be used by supercomputers,
mainframes, workstations and also personal computers. These break codes using a brute force
method, which consists of trying all possible keys. It can get pretty complex, for example,
discovering a 40–bit key you would have to try about 1 trillion different

Reflection Paper On Grammar
Flash Backs Grammar. A confusing concept to my own mind while walking into a new class, yet
an intriguing topic to learn throughout a course. In the beginning of the semester, I worried a lot
about my success in this course because my own grammar, rhetoric, and style of writing needs
work. I knew this class was going to put my prior knowledge to the test, but I was beyond ready
for the challenge. As I continue throughout the course I become more aware of the grammar in
writings and the purpose that grammar serves in order to successfully display the message.
Between a poet's decision to capitalize an improper noun, or an author choosing to use an ellipses
rather than just ending showcases the use of grammar and what it can tell the audience about the
written work. Before this semester, I would have told you that I did not feel very confident with the
usage of grammar; I may have had past experience with writing and attempting to use grammar, but
the task still overwhelms and troubles me. Definitions. Definitions of words change and evolve
throughout time, and the same goes for grammar and its definition. To come into a classroom that
revolves around instructing and learning grammar and its process, I had no idea how exactly I
would fit in with my classmates. The teacher asked us what we thought grammar was; originally I
thought the definition of grammar was the proper way to include symbols for writing like commas
and the use of different sentence structures in a

Personal Experience During an Interview Essay
When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to
another to seek information. In my previous assessment we were asked to interview a fellow peer,
on their personal experience of QIBT so far this year. We were not given any question, but made to
think of our own. As we were interviewing our peer another peer was marking us on our overall
ability to interview. This piece of reflective writing will be an explanation of what I thought my
personal strengths and weaknesses were throughout my interview.
Through reflecting on my previous interview I was able to pull apart both positives and negatives
aspects of my interview allowing myself time to look into the effects that the negative...show more

Whilst the open ended questions allowed deeper responses as spoken about above it was also
evident that these questions allowed Mary Doe to feel comfortable throughout the interview as she
was allowed to express her own open thought rather than having a written script of multiple smaller
closed ended questions. REF
The safe environment was carried through the whole interview. I concluded the interview by asking
Mary Doe if she had any concerns or further questions she would like to talk about. This continues
the safe environment feel, which I created throughout the whole interview.
Once finishing the interview I recall thinking that I had forgotten one major factor within the
interview, which was taking notes. This would have to be my only major weakness that I found I
had whilst interviewing Mary Doe. At the time I was so focused on eye contact, so it was really
easy for myself to just ask the questions and get lost in the answer whilst trying to figure out what
question to ask next. The lack of note taking in response to Mary Doe's answers left me forgetting
to listen one hundred percent as I was switching focus to what came next. When researching how I
can improve this skill there was a lot of positive feedback on how to strengthen this skill. One that I
shall be focusing on for future interviewing opportunities is to continually jot down small phrases as
spoken, any specific information that is useful

Did the exhibition of your work to the public provide you with a worthwhile experience?
Yes, exhibiting my work to the public was a worthwhile experience because it allowed me to see my
project through the eyes of new viewers, as well as over–hearing some criticism of my work. Since I
had worked on my project for quite a long time, I became desensitized to my photographs. I did not
see them as revolting anymore, but during the exhibition, I saw a few disgusted reactions. One in
particular was an older woman, who after glancing at my images, made a sour face and immediately
moved on. Although I thought that was a funny reaction, it also reminded me that other people react
to my work in a different way than I do; I thought that my images were fascinating and beautiful, but
she apparently did not. My intent was not for my work to be solely revolting, but if that...show more

The ALC program was originally my second choice, but after the first semester, I did not want to
change programs anymore. Before I started this program, I did not know what I wanted to do
after CEGEP, but I found an interest for the arts that I did not know I had until my Universe of
the Arts classes. These classes not only taught me how to do research and write essay, but also
that I could be passionate about doing this type of work. Next year, I will be studying art history
at Concordia, and I do not think that I would have considered this if I had not gone through the
ALC program, and I also do think that the theory classes that I took have prepared me for
university and future academic research. For example, one of my teachers, Dr. Meredith Browne,
showed us that her doctor's thesis was written using the MLA format, therefore something that I
learned how to do in the ALC program could be used if I ever wanted to attempt a

My Core Values
As I have grown as an adult and moved further towards success in my life, I have always
maintained a guided structure to achieve goals and tasks that challenge me. I call these my "Core
Values". This is a strict regimen or a belief system that I have instilled into my everyday practice to
complete any task that presents itself. Although not perfected, I have found this method to be quite
successful. My work ethic, responsibility, and my drive to further my education and knowledge
have never failed me. Life can seem tough and demanding on a very consistent basis, but I believe
that I have cultivated a plan to accommodate and withstand any trial

To build responsibility as a child I volunteered to take care of my family dog. Even though she was
the family's pet I took it upon myself to make sure she was properly fed, watered, and walked. My
mother was very proud of my new development as an adolescent. She became very encouraging
and would come up with other special chores around the house that I could be relied upon to
handle. To some children this would seem like a punishment, but both of my parents were so
supportive and persuasive that I looked forward to having the gained accountability. My father
instituted honesty and respect as monuments for responsibility. I of course struggled at times
with taking care of my dog, and handling some of my other chores. But my father always wanted
me to not only be honest with my parents, but also with myself. He stated that a lie would not
benefit anybody and it was disrespectful to tell a lie. He would tell me that a liar was the same as
a cheater, and nobody liked either. If I knew how to respect others and be honest, than my
responsibility would only increase. I asked why I would want added responsibility and my father
told me two things that changed my perspective completely. First, it was that responsible people
always tended to be more successful. Since I had always dreamed of growing up to be rich and
famous, I guess I could accept the added responsibility. The second thing he told me was that one
day I could possibly

I have discovered some interesting things I have noticed in myself before taking this course. For
example, my learning style I have noticed is the visual learning style.
With this, I prefer to see and read information to full gain comprehension. If I forget the data, or
not clearly understand it the first time read, I have the option of reading it over. I do not always
trust myself to absorb all information the first time around. I take a lot of notes to look at. Notes
help me remember even though I may not read the again, I can refer to them in my mind after
writing them down. I am not sure if just anyone reading them would get anything out of it, but at
least I know what they mean.
I like to take my time with material, but am not always given the allotted time to do so. I also like
to keep a written list of things to do to refer to. I am comfortable with my learning style, accepted
it as my very own. I am not sure if changing it this late in life is such a good idea. I have got by this
far, it must work out for me.
I have identified my personality style as being extroverted, one who becomes easily energized by
others, and outwardly expressing thoughts as long as I am fully understanding context and material
being discussed. If I have no idea what is being addressed, I am better of keeping quiet to save

Lyme Disease Essay
A disease caused by the bacterium which is belongs to the class of Spirochaetes which implies
cockscrew–shaped. This bacterial infection is caused by four species. Borrelia burgdorferi and
Borrelia mayonii cause the disease in the United States, while in Europe and Asia it is Borrelia
afzelii and Borrelia garinii.
A person can acquire Lyme disease by the bite of an infected tick. This disease is transmitted by deer
ticks or black–legged ticks. Ticks are tiny in size and as their bite is painless, people might not even
realize that they have been bitten. Once an infected tick attaches itself to the skin, it is able to
transmit the bacteria. This bacteria eventually ends up in the bloodstream. The duration of
attachment necessary to transfer...show more content...
If the disease is diagnosed at an early stage, anti–infections treatment is given for a duration of
14–21 days. Adults and children above 8 are recommended doxycycline, while cefuuroxime and
amoxicillin are given to younger children and breast–feeding women. The infection can be totally
eliminated if a person is treated at the early stage. If Lyme disease is persistent in a patient, then they
will be treated with intravenous antibiotics. When the disease is treated at a later stage, the infection
will be stopped, but the curing of the symptoms will happen at a slower rate. A patient left untreated
could face problems with the nervous system, muscle and joints and the digestive system.
Prevention of Lyme disease lies in avoiding contact with ticks and removing ticks that attach to the
skin. Avoiding grassy and woody areas is one way. Dressing defensively to cover up the skin
available for the tick to attach is another way prevents the disease. Using repellants on exposed skin
or checking for ticks regularly are other methods.
A decade long research that ended in earlier months of this year has sequenced the genome of the
tick that causes Lyme disease. This allows researchers to understand how ticks acquire and transmit
pathogens allowing them to design a strategy to control

Essay about A Stroke
A stroke is a type of cardiovascular disease that affects the cerebral arteries, those blood vessels
that carry blood to the brain. A stroke occurs when one of those blood vessels in the brain is
obstructed or ruptures flooding the brain with blood. Depriving blood and oxygen to the brain
results in those immediate cells death, causing the brain not to function properly. Once parts of the
brain stop functioning, it can directly affect the areas of the body controlled (1). Astroke can be

ischemic stroke. This occurs when a blood clot (cerebral thrombosis) blocks a blood vessel in the

They can cause blood to seep out of the brain and accumulate around it, resulting in increased
pressure in the brain. This build up of pressure within the brain can cause altered brain function
(1). In many cases, strokes can be diagnosed, prevented and treatable. Symptoms of a stroke can
occur quickly and may cause: sudden numbness, tingling, or weakness, or paralysis in your face,
arm, or leg, especially on one side of your body. Sudden: vision changes, trouble speaking (slurred
speech), confusion or trouble understanding simple statements, problems with walking or balance,
severe headache. It's recommended to call a doctor or 911 even if these symptoms last for a short
amount of time because a transient ischemic attack, or mini stroke may have occurred. The transient
ischemic attack may be a precursor to a stroke occurring soon. Catching these symptoms can
dramatically increase chances of prevention additional damage to the body (2). To have their
symptoms diagnosed, a person must first seek medical treatment. Only 20–25% of patients who are
admitted to the hospital with a stroke arrive in the emergency department within 3 hours of the
onset of symptoms (3). Once a doctor is able to determine what kind of stroke has occurred, it is
important the appropriate medicine be given. If the wrong medicine were given to treat a stroke
victim, it could result in death. Treatment for an ischemic stroke will focus mainly on restoring
blood flow

Reflection Paper On Marketing
At the beginning of this class, my main objective was to learn more about finance and learn about
marketing. When I first review the class's syllabus, I thought this class would be mainly about
marketing and investments, but I was glad to find out that the class was about more than just
marketing. I would definitely say that I met my objectives and even more because I learned more
than I was expecting. This class helped developed a security about a business idea that was on my
mind for years which is having my own private investigations company. Before this class, the idea
of owning a company about something that I am very passionate about was only just an idea and I
never thought I could have been developed a possible marketing plan. Thanks to this class, I was
able to work on a marketing plan for my dream company. Even though some assignments were
difficult, I felt that no one could have taken the excitement I felt every single time I sat down to
work on my own business marketing plan.
It is important to mention that my feelings about this great experience are truthful. I understand
that some people might say that most students are not truthful when given feedback about the
class or the professor because they fear retaliation, but I am very happy to say this is not the case

interpretation of emotionally relevant situations, and shapes experience. This second generation of
developments included rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) developed by Albert Ellis, and

population varies depending on the form. Some of the many different forms include: trauma–focused
CBT for children, CBT for late–life depression, and CBT for adolescent depression to name a few;
each form has a variety of age groups intended as its target population. For example CBT for
adolescent depression has the target population of individuals ages 13–17 and 18–25 whereas CBT
for late–life depression has the target population of individuals ages 55 and older (NREPP, 2014)
CBT differs from other forms of psychotherapy in the sense the sessions have more structure. Those
with specific focus and goal may benefit more from CBT. It is less suitable for someone who feels
vaguely unhappy or unfulfilled, but doesn't have any symptoms or a particular aspect of their life
they want to work on. CBT is effective for a wide variety of mental health disorders, including but
not limited to mood, anxiety, personality, eating, substance abuse, sleep, and psychotic

Group Project Reflection
In a team–oriented setting, everyone contributes to how well the group succeeds overall. You work
with fellow members of the group to complete the work that needs to be done. Having the right
people in the correct roles is an important factor in measuring the success of a team, where you are
united with the other members to complete the main goals. Every group is made up of definite
strengths and weaknesses. Our team's 3–5 major strengths necessary to work accordingly consist of
Informer, Summarizer, Orienter, Piggy–Backer, and Encourager. One of our strengths as a team is
that we get input from everyone involved. Every member of our team is a leader in some way. Part

The team has to agree upon what their responsibilities are and make sure that they are completed at
the agreed–upon time. The team should be well aware of what is to be done and its timelines. We
need to show more leadership in the team and be in support of what the team has set out to do.
The third recommendation to improve the functioning of our team is how we can become more
effective clarifiers. With a lack of role clarity in any team, group members do not understand their
role and what is expected of them, so it leads to frustration and mediocre performances. Improving
the clarity in our group lies in how correctly and quickly we interpret someone's message, the
meaning and contents of originality of what that person is saying. One way to improve being a
clarifier is to be as accurate as possible. We must keep the exact meaning and tone of what we say,
whether done simultaneously or consecutively. Also, a good clarifier needs a good short–term
memory to keep what he/she has just heard and good long–term memory to put the information into
context. Our ability to concentrate is an important factor as is the ability to analyze and process
what is heard. And lastly, we need bettercommunication skills and to better familiarize ourselves
among one another, to better understand the person for whom we are interpreting so that we can
make his/her words and meaning

1.1a ExercisePhysical inactivity is one of the modifiable risk factor for the coronary heart diseases
(Devries et al, 2011), and therefore exercise is used as an integral component of the primary and
secondary prevention in reducing mortality and improving the quality of life. Upon reviewing the
literature, the author found that, patients' perspective about physical exercise differs widely. In their
study Holder et al (2015) found that, the increased awareness of the mortality after the cardiac event,
help the patients to change their outlook towards life and this further help them to realise the health
benefit of exercise. In addition to that, some of the patients claimed that, exercise helped to divert
their mind and thus helps them to cope with the condition (Holder et al, 2015). Moreover, the
current cardiac rehabilitation programme, made the patients aware of the health benefits of exercise
and, therefore they were motivated to continue the exercise (Hillsdon et al, 2013; Morken et al,

confidence of patients in participating exercise (Morken et al, 2013). The study also found that, the

My Teaching Philosophy Essay
My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and
involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they
go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college.
Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead
something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better
equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly
anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That

The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the
most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for
the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore
different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is
not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge
not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are
not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an
energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like
an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or
her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only
to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a
particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the
teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more

make this essay seem more academically credible? a.Something that would make this essay more
academically credible would be using more than four sources. You have six sources listed on the
works cited page, but in the essay, I only noticed that four of them were used. I would recommend
if you do not use a source in the paper, taking it off the works cited page. I did not see the first
source "Arlotta" referenced in the paper. It seems like you really only used the Center for Disease
and Control, "Geebhart" and "Sansone." 3.What is the best feature of this document? a.The best
feature about the essay is the amount of statistics about doctor shopping involving opioid abuse is

  • 1. Essay on Self-Analysis Self–Analysis Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread. My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer. In my writing, I have many strengths, some that which I have developed through this course and some that I already had. Before this...show more content... I can write a thesis that will give an overview about what main topic of the paper is and what other elements will be addressed in the paper. From taking this course I have been able to improve many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end. This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing, such as paraphrasing, summarizing, analyzing, and researching; it has enabled me to be able to write more broadly. By knowing how to correctly use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these types of papers. I still procrastinate sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along because I will become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better grades. Overall I think that my most of my writing habits have improved and for the ones that have not I know what they are and what I need to do to improve them. My strengths that I already had as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Data Encryption Essay Encryption Data encryption refers to the transformation of data into a structure that makes it unreadable by anyone without a secret decryption key. It ensures that messages can be read only by the planned recipient. Encryption is the procedure of obscuring information to create it unreadable without special information. Only organizations and individuals with an abnormal need for secrecy have actually made good use of it. Nowadays, encryption is one of the most important technologies for maintaining your privacy and the security of important information. This helps out greatly especially when E–Commerce is being used. Encryption converts a message in such as way that its contents are hidden from unauthorized readers. It is...show more content... When it arrives to the seller it is then decrypted back into the original plaintext credit card number. Messages are encrypted by using a cryptographic algorithm and key. This is a precise action for both encryption and decryption. A cryptographic key is a word number or phrase that must be known to encrypt or decrypt a message. A weak encryption is effortlessly able to be decrypted without the algorithm and key. When someone decrypts when not approved it is then known as breaking or cracking a code. A strong encryption is one that is very hard to break. Technology is getting better and better, making some codes that were once known as very hard to break, now breakable and are out dated. Question 1: Have you ever heard about how encryption protects your privacy over the internet, like your credit card number? Question 2: Have you ever had trouble with using your credit card over the internet? Code–breaking computers have a tendency to be very expensive because of how specialized and highly how advanced they are. But methods of breaking codes can also be used by supercomputers, mainframes, workstations and also personal computers. These break codes using a brute force method, which consists of trying all possible keys. It can get pretty complex, for example, discovering a 40–bit key you would have to try about 1 trillion different Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Reflection Paper On Grammar Flash Backs Grammar. A confusing concept to my own mind while walking into a new class, yet an intriguing topic to learn throughout a course. In the beginning of the semester, I worried a lot about my success in this course because my own grammar, rhetoric, and style of writing needs work. I knew this class was going to put my prior knowledge to the test, but I was beyond ready for the challenge. As I continue throughout the course I become more aware of the grammar in writings and the purpose that grammar serves in order to successfully display the message. Between a poet's decision to capitalize an improper noun, or an author choosing to use an ellipses rather than just ending showcases the use of grammar and what it can tell the audience about the written work. Before this semester, I would have told you that I did not feel very confident with the usage of grammar; I may have had past experience with writing and attempting to use grammar, but the task still overwhelms and troubles me. Definitions. Definitions of words change and evolve throughout time, and the same goes for grammar and its definition. To come into a classroom that revolves around instructing and learning grammar and its process, I had no idea how exactly I would fit in with my classmates. The teacher asked us what we thought grammar was; originally I thought the definition of grammar was the proper way to include symbols for writing like commas and the use of different sentence structures in a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Personal Experience During an Interview Essay When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to another to seek information. In my previous assessment we were asked to interview a fellow peer, on their personal experience of QIBT so far this year. We were not given any question, but made to think of our own. As we were interviewing our peer another peer was marking us on our overall ability to interview. This piece of reflective writing will be an explanation of what I thought my personal strengths and weaknesses were throughout my interview. Through reflecting on my previous interview I was able to pull apart both positives and negatives aspects of my interview allowing myself time to look into the effects that the negative...show more content... Whilst the open ended questions allowed deeper responses as spoken about above it was also evident that these questions allowed Mary Doe to feel comfortable throughout the interview as she was allowed to express her own open thought rather than having a written script of multiple smaller closed ended questions. REF The safe environment was carried through the whole interview. I concluded the interview by asking Mary Doe if she had any concerns or further questions she would like to talk about. This continues the safe environment feel, which I created throughout the whole interview. Once finishing the interview I recall thinking that I had forgotten one major factor within the interview, which was taking notes. This would have to be my only major weakness that I found I had whilst interviewing Mary Doe. At the time I was so focused on eye contact, so it was really easy for myself to just ask the questions and get lost in the answer whilst trying to figure out what question to ask next. The lack of note taking in response to Mary Doe's answers left me forgetting to listen one hundred percent as I was switching focus to what came next. When researching how I can improve this skill there was a lot of positive feedback on how to strengthen this skill. One that I shall be focusing on for future interviewing opportunities is to continually jot down small phrases as spoken, any specific information that is useful Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. Sample Comprehensive Assessment Comprehensive Assessment Did the exhibition of your work to the public provide you with a worthwhile experience? Yes, exhibiting my work to the public was a worthwhile experience because it allowed me to see my project through the eyes of new viewers, as well as over–hearing some criticism of my work. Since I had worked on my project for quite a long time, I became desensitized to my photographs. I did not see them as revolting anymore, but during the exhibition, I saw a few disgusted reactions. One in particular was an older woman, who after glancing at my images, made a sour face and immediately moved on. Although I thought that was a funny reaction, it also reminded me that other people react to my work in a different way than I do; I thought that my images were fascinating and beautiful, but she apparently did not. These classes not only taught me how to do research and write essay, but also that I could be passionate about doing this type of work. Next year, I will be studying art history at Concordia, and I do not think that I would have considered this if I had not gone through the ALC program, and I also do think that the theory classes that I took have prepared me for university and future academic research. For example, one of my teachers, Dr. Meredith Browne, showed us that her doctor's thesis was written using the MLA format, therefore something that I learned how to do in the ALC program could be used if I ever wanted to attempt a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Essay about My Core Values Tamneicha Mcdavid Prof.Beck ENC 1101 July 30, 2009 Example Essay My Core Values As I have grown as an adult and moved further towards success in my life, I have always maintained a guided structure to achieve goals and tasks that challenge me. I call these my "Core Values". This is a strict regimen or a belief system that I have instilled into my everyday practice to complete any task that presents itself. Although not perfected, I have found this method to be quite successful. My work ethic, responsibility, and my drive to further my education and knowledge have never failed me. To build responsibility as a child I volunteered to take care of my family dog. Even though she was the family's pet I took it upon myself to make sure she was properly fed, watered, and walked. My mother was very proud of my new development as an adolescent. She became very encouraging and would come up with other special chores around the house that I could be relied upon to handle. To some children this would seem like a punishment, but both of my parents were so supportive and persuasive that I looked forward to having the gained accountability. My father instituted honesty and respect as monuments for responsibility. I of course struggled at times with taking care of my dog, and handling some of my other chores. But my father always wanted me to not only be honest with my parents, but also with myself. He stated that a lie would not benefit anybody and it was disrespectful to tell a lie. He would tell me that a liar was the same as a cheater, and nobody liked either. If I knew how to respect others and be honest, than my responsibility would only increase. I asked why I would want added responsibility and my father told me two things that changed my perspective completely. First, it was that responsible people always tended to be more successful. Since I had always dreamed of growing up to be rich and famous, I guess I could accept the added responsibility. The second thing he told me was that one day I could possibly Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Your likes, dislikes, behaviors, attitudes and habits can be found during this process. You can use the discoveries to your advantage by accepting or changing strengths and weaknesses. I plan on using this course to enhance my personal skills to become a better student and find success in earning my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Science.Self Assessment is the first step in my successful future. I take a lot of notes to look at. Notes help me remember even though I may not read the again, I can refer to them in my mind after writing them down. I am not sure if just anyone reading them would get anything out of it, but at least I know what they mean. I like to take my time with material, but am not always given the allotted time to do so. I also like to keep a written list of things to do to refer to. I am comfortable with my learning style, accepted it as my very own. I am not sure if changing it this late in life is such a good idea. I have got by this far, it must work out for me. I have identified my personality style as being extroverted, one who becomes easily energized by others, and outwardly expressing thoughts as long as I am fully understanding context and material being discussed. Borrelia burgdorferi and Borrelia mayonii cause the disease in the United States, while in Europe and Asia it is Borrelia afzelii and Borrelia garinii. A person can acquire Lyme disease by the bite of an infected tick. This disease is transmitted by deer ticks or black–legged ticks. Ticks are tiny in size and as their bite is painless, people might not even realize that they have been bitten. Once an infected tick attaches itself to the skin, it is able to transmit the bacteria. This bacteria eventually ends up in the bloodstream. The duration of attachment necessary to transfer...show more content... If the disease is diagnosed at an early stage, anti–infections treatment is given for a duration of 14–21 days. Adults and children above 8 are recommended doxycycline, while cefuuroxime and amoxicillin are given to younger children and breast–feeding women. The infection can be totally eliminated if a person is treated at the early stage. If Lyme disease is persistent in a patient, then they will be treated with intravenous antibiotics. When the disease is treated at a later stage, the infection will be stopped, but the curing of the symptoms will happen at a slower rate. A patient left untreated could face problems with the nervous system, muscle and joints and the digestive system. Prevention of Lyme disease lies in avoiding contact with ticks and removing ticks that attach to the skin. Avoiding grassy and woody areas is one way. Dressing defensively to cover up the skin available for the tick to attach is another way prevents the disease. Using repellants on exposed skin or checking for ticks regularly are other methods. A decade long research that ended in earlier months of this year has sequenced the genome of the tick that causes Lyme disease. This allows researchers to understand how ticks acquire and transmit pathogens allowing them to design a strategy to control Get more content on HelpWriting.net

A stroke occurs when one of those blood vessels in the brain is obstructed or ruptures flooding the brain with blood. Depriving blood and oxygen to the brain results in those immediate cells death, causing the brain not to function properly. Once parts of the brain stop functioning, it can directly affect the areas of the body controlled (1). Astroke can be generally be defined in two types of categories. The transient ischemic attack may be a precursor to a stroke occurring soon. Catching these symptoms can dramatically increase chances of prevention additional damage to the body (2). To have their symptoms diagnosed, a person must first seek medical treatment. Only 20–25% of patients who are admitted to the hospital with a stroke arrive in the emergency department within 3 hours of the onset of symptoms (3). • 11. Reflection Paper On Marketing At the beginning of this class, my main objective was to learn more about finance and learn about marketing. When I first review the class's syllabus, I thought this class would be mainly about marketing and investments, but I was glad to find out that the class was about more than just marketing. I would definitely say that I met my objectives and even more because I learned more than I was expecting. This class helped developed a security about a business idea that was on my mind for years which is having my own private investigations company. Before this class, the idea of owning a company about something that I am very passionate about was only just an idea and I never thought I could have been developed a possible marketing plan. Thanks to this class, I was able to work on a marketing plan for my dream company. Even though some assignments were difficult, I felt that no one could have taken the excitement I felt every single time I sat down to work on my own business marketing plan. It is important to mention that my feelings about this great experience are truthful. I understand that some people might say that most students are not truthful when given feedback about the class or the professor because they fear retaliation, but I am very happy to say this is not the case for me. I am a very truthful person and I say it how it is, I am not the type of student that would write something nice to make the professor feel better or to avoid a low grade, I just Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Essay example Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is among the most extensively tested psychotherapies for depression. Many studies have confirmed the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a treatment for depression. This paper will provide background information about the intervention, address the target population, and describe program structure and key components. It will also provide examples of program implementation, challenges/barriers to implementing the practice, address how the practice supports recovery from a serious mental illness standpoint and provide a summary. Although there are several types of therapy available to treat depression and other mood disorders, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) has been one of the most widely...show more content... According to Hayes, emphasis shifted towards exploration of one's interpretation of the world and interpretation of emotionally relevant situations, and shapes experience. This second generation of developments included rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) developed by Albert Ellis, and Beck and colleagues' cognitive therapy. There are many different forms of CBT and the target population varies depending on the form. Some of the many different forms include: trauma–focused CBT for children, CBT for late–life depression, and CBT for adolescent depression to name a few; each form has a variety of age groups intended as its target population. For example CBT for adolescent depression has the target population of individuals ages 13–17 and 18–25 whereas CBT for late–life depression has the target population of individuals ages 55 and older (NREPP, 2014) CBT differs from other forms of psychotherapy in the sense the sessions have more structure. Those with specific focus and goal may benefit more from CBT. It is less suitable for someone who feels vaguely unhappy or unfulfilled, but doesn't have any symptoms or a particular aspect of their life they want to work on. CBT is effective for a wide variety of mental health disorders, including but not limited to mood, anxiety, personality, eating, substance abuse, sleep, and psychotic Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Group Project Reflection In a team–oriented setting, everyone contributes to how well the group succeeds overall. You work with fellow members of the group to complete the work that needs to be done. Having the right people in the correct roles is an important factor in measuring the success of a team, where you are united with the other members to complete the main goals. Every group is made up of definite strengths and weaknesses. Our team's 3–5 major strengths necessary to work accordingly consist of Informer, Summarizer, Orienter, Piggy–Backer, and Encourager. One of our strengths as a team is that we get input from everyone involved. Every member of our team is a leader in some way. The team has to agree upon what their responsibilities are and make sure that they are completed at the agreed–upon time. The team should be well aware of what is to be done and its timelines. We need to show more leadership in the team and be in support of what the team has set out to do. The third recommendation to improve the functioning of our team is how we can become more effective clarifiers. With a lack of role clarity in any team, group members do not understand their role and what is expected of them, so it leads to frustration and mediocre performances. Improving the clarity in our group lies in how correctly and quickly we interpret someone's message, the meaning and contents of originality of what that person is saying. One way to improve being a clarifier is to be as accurate as possible. We must keep the exact meaning and tone of what we say, whether done simultaneously or consecutively. Also, a good clarifier needs a good short–term memory to keep what he/she has just heard and good long–term memory to put the information into context. Our ability to concentrate is an important factor as is the ability to analyze and process what is heard. And lastly, we need bettercommunication skills and to better familiarize ourselves among one another, to better understand the person for whom we are interpreting so that we can make his/her words and meaning Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In their study Holder et al (2015) found that, the increased awareness of the mortality after the cardiac event, help the patients to change their outlook towards life and this further help them to realise the health benefit of exercise. In addition to that, some of the patients claimed that, exercise helped to divert their mind and thus helps them to cope with the condition (Holder et al, 2015). Moreover, the current cardiac rehabilitation programme, made the patients aware of the health benefits of exercise and, therefore they were motivated to continue the exercise (Hillsdon et al, 2013; Morken et al, 2013). Exercising in a safe environment, under the supervision of the trained staff increases the confidence of patients in participating exercise (Morken et al, 2013). • 17. My Teaching Philosophy Essay My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college. Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content... The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
